Official Video For Ed Sheeran's THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG Tune, "I See Fire"

Ed Sheeran has released a song for Peter Jackson's second Hobbit installment, and the video features some footage (though I don't think any of it is new) from the movie. You have to watch him prick around in the studio for a minute or two before getting on with it mind you.

The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug hits theaters this December.

Hahaha i love how you post the song, yet hate it...

After the recent trailer, i am really looking forward to Part 2....i enjoyed Part 1, but Part 2 looks to be even better, from what we've seen so far...

I liked it. it has more of a campfire atmosphere to it and that's fine because elves and hobbits were the focus of LOTR. the dwarves ae centre-stage here so it makes sense to let them have a distinct kind of music. I quite liked last years' crédits song and this is not as good but it works with the tone of the film.

What's the moaning about? This sounds totally appropriate for the tone of the movie to be used for end credit music just as the tradition for these films in the series have been so far.

Anyone hating this for being "Boring" simply is a typical cynic who is incapable of general appreciation for musical diversity beyond what they listen to every day for their own personal entertainment. In other words, your type is locked into a narrow minded vision of what you think music is all about and the clear artistry at hand here is simply beyond you.

Accept your limitations and deal with it!

First off this is a really great and beautiful song and the guy is a great singer with quality music. I can't stand the hipsters on this site who feel the need to bash any and everything especially if it's popular.

^Bingo. I bought this song on Itunes after watching it a couple times. It's so good. You guys who say this is boring are about as deep as a puddle. If you read on PJ's facebook page he'll tell you that this guy is a huge Tolkien fan who wrote this immediately after watching the movie, so its stemming from his emotional reaction to the movie's end which sounds like its gonna be epic, tragic, and filled with despair yet with a hint of hope. The perfect ending to a 2nd Act (think Empire Strikes Back). Imagine Thorin or maybe Bard singing this basically.

@ monkeyballs , i think its out of order you stating that about a guy you dont know. I met him recently at a charity event and to say this guy is down to earth is an understatement. It was refreshing to speak to someone who is as popular as he is now and yet be a genuionly nice guy.

Never heard of this guy and must agree with those calling it a rather dull song, fitting in with most of the others. Then again, the only really good credits song we've had from LOTR/Hobbit is Into the West. Can we get Annie Lennox back for the third film please?

Ceejay, lol, sorry you like and appreciate such a piece of manufactured tripe masquerading as "soulful", but some of have a more discerning taste in music. Accept our limitations? Accept that we recognize this for what it is and are saying so.
