According to Heatvision, the rumored director of The Hobbit has been meeting with potential actors for the project...
Sources say Jackson's pact with Warner Bros. to direct the two-part "Hobbit" adaptation is close to done, but the sticking point continues to be the dire financial situation at MGM, which holds half the rights to the property.
Jackson, who has been in L.A. since Saturday, is working with casting director Victoria Burrows on assembling what will likely be a large, international cast for the project.
Still no greenlight for the movie, but this is encouraging. Although they will have to get things moving fairly soon if they want to hold on to Sir Ian McKellen by the sounds of it. So far the only piece of solid casting info we have, and even then its not official, is that McKellen, Andy Serkis and Hugo Weaving would return to reprise their roles. Since then of course, the project has been put through the ringer, with original director Guillermo Del Toro leaving and MGM's financial situation countinuing to worsen. Lets hope Jackson's actor meetings go well and he is motivated to sign on so we can finally get this much anticipated fantasy epic off the blocks.
