We recently found out that Paramount Pictures had set a March 27, 2020 release date for their new G.I. Joe movie, and now we may have some intriguing new details on the project that most had assumed would be a reboot.
According to That Hashtag Show, the title will be G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant, and the studio is looking to get Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to reprise the role of Roadblock from the last film, Retaliation. It looks like an offer has officially been made, but we're not sure if Johnson has accepted yet.
As far as we know, this third G.I.: Joe movie is being developed as part of Paramount and Hasbro's Allspark Pictures' shared cinematic universe along with the likes of Micronauts, M.A.S.K. and ROM.
Here is an idea of what to expect from the story, which is being developed by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol).
