The former X Factor winner is said to be keen to use the buzz surrounding Simon Cowell’s new American version of the TV talent show and has set up auditions for some new movie roles GI Joe being the most prominent.

The Sun reports that after being dropped by Cowell’s record label SYCO last month, Ward has decided on a change of direction and has now signed up with actors’ agency CAM, who currently manage the careers of Ray Winstone and Martin Freeman.

“Shayne feels it’s the time to strike. Being linked with X Factor might help him get noticed,” a source told the newspaper.

What role could Ward play in the action packed franchise?
