Over on IMDB the user “Rhoswen7″ apparently has gotten his hands on casting notices for the pilot. Based on the notice filming for the pilot should begin March 12, 2012.

Last week it was announced that Paul Blackthorne landed the role of Detective Quentin Lance, and Jamey Sheridan will play Robert Queen. Here are full character breakdown for both roles.

DETECTIVE QUENTIN LANCE - In his 50s, Caucasian, he is Laurel's father; he's a gruff, determined city detective, who's pulled strings and gotten himself assigned to the investigation into Oliver Queen's kidnapping. The father of Sara Queen, who died of drowning while on a romantic weekend aboard the Queen yacht, Detective Lance bitterly hates Oliver and blames him for Sara's death. He's about to be placed in charge of a task force to capture the eccentric green-hooded vigilante. SERIES REGULAR.

ROBERT QUEEN - Male, Caucasian, 50 years old, Oliver's billionaire tycoon father, Robert is a powerful, fearsome, titan of a man, used to controlling everything in his life, particularly his family. A domineering patriarch, seen in flashback to five years ago, Robert learns that he cannot manipulate the weather to suit his wishes, and he's shipwrecked somewhere in the Indian Ocean, along with his son and his Chief Of Security. 1 speech & 24 lines, 5 scenes. POSSIBLE RECURRING GUEST STAR. STAR NAMES ONLY.

These are the two roles that haven't been casted yet.
WALTER STEELE - Male, Asian, East Indian, Latin, Middle Eastern. Early 50s. A commanding, upper crust man, Walter is Moira's second husband; he married her after Robert was declared legally dead -- and he's understandably interested in whether or not Robert is literally dead. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR.

JOANNA - Female, African American, 28 years old, Joanna is Laurel's friend and co-worker at the City Necessary Resources Initiative. More cynical and maybe less idealistic, Joanna alerts Laurel to the fact of Oliver Queen's resurrection. RECURRING GUEST STAR.

CW's Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Katie Cassidy as Dinah “Laurel” Lance, Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen, and David Ramsey as John Diggle.

its a sad day when even the CW Superman can't get promoted to drive-thru duty...

I will give it a chance and I don't think it will be very bad because it is disconnected from Smallville.

@KamenRiderJ22 - Yeah she is played by Katie Cassidy.

Paul Blackthorne is a good actor, but I don't think he's going to be able to convince me that he's in his 50s and old enough to be the father of a 27 year old.

Glad he's in the series, though.

@KamenRiderJ22: It's similar to when Anne Hathaway was cast as "Selina Kyle". It was only confirmed that Katie Cassidy (She played Amanda in Taken) will play Dinah "Laurel" Lance. I would guess that she does appear as Black Canary.

Katie Cassidy makes this whole bleak show seem perfect.
She is all I need.

@KamenRider @Taz

I hear Katie Cassidy isn't going to be her alter-ego Black Canary just Dinah Laurel, for now they are just making her an ordinary love-interest. Maybe they'll introduce the BC further down the line if it's successful.

Katie is definitely a huge improvement from that "Black Canary" that was on Smallville! Alaina Huffman is hot, but Katie is on a whole other level and she has LONG HAIR.

@CherryBomb...You have the PERFECT taste in women.
You really, honestly do...And, you are very open! I wish more girls could admit things like you do. All of the girls at my high school think it is a crime to call other girls hot, and what not.
I think it is perfectly fine!

Especially girls like Katie Cassidy!
Just so sexy!

@CherryBomb, Cassidy has an attractive face, but she doesn't have the body to back it up.She s little on the skinny side and her boobs are practically nonexistant.

While I wasn't the biggest fan of Smallville's Canary, I think Huffman was a better fit.

Cassidy also looks like she should still be playing high school roles, not a lawyer.

Katie has sprouted boobs in the last few years, actually....
She has matured quite well, based off of how she look NOW.
I found this photo of her in 2012!

And, she is rocking black/dark brown hair...
I first thought they may pull the black hair, blonde wig...But, I doubt it, since they may not make her Black Canary!

I hope the show turns out well. I don't have much faith in it being good.

@CherryBomb That's one of the things that bugged me about Black Canary on Smallvile. I don't know why they made her hair so short.

@tazmaniak She could turn to be a better Dinah Lance/Black Canary than Alaina Huffman. Yah, she has a smoking hot body, but Katie Cassidy is no push over:

What really matters is which one of them is a better actress and a better fit for the role.

@tweeeeenkies Nice, I had a hard a time finding recent pictures of her. I could totally see her as Dinah.

completely agree with you man, this sounds amazing! I cannot wait to see this show, smallville was great, this has potential to be even better. A darker tone, more realistic situations, and the way it seems, a greatly written script, I have high hopes for this show!

LETS GO!

Can't say I am excited for this considering how Smallville went, we had to sit through 10 seasons and he still didn't fully wear the damn suit. Watching that show was like masturbating without they pay off.

@MoonKnight91 warner bros. dont like to have shows about characters that also have movies out at the same time. they think it confuses us or something. exam. bruce wayne was gonna be in smallville season 3 but made them take him out when they decided to goforward with batman begins. lois lane's character left for awhile after they introduced her in smallville becouse they were releasing superman returns. i think its stupied that they dont give fans enough credit to know that they r different takes on the characters but what are you gonna do. but thats why as long as batman is on the big screen he wont be on the small screen.

@Taz She plays a lot of strong, independent female roles sooo perfectly that she even proves she can take on any 'man' standing in her way. I didn't get the kind of same, edginess from Huffman :/

Who needs boobs when you can act, look hot and have a great body! X-Men First Class brought January Jone's up about 5 cup sizes. That's Hollywood magic for you!

this show is still going to bomb no matter who they cast. DC hasn't learned that the general public doesn't care for their B heroes. How do you even make a series lasting more than 2 season about the green arrow?? Answer.... you don't
Nightsider
Nightsider - 5/18/2012, 3:04 PM
@hoodedjester You're an idiot... Green Arrow is NOT a B Hero, he started the Justice League and is one of the most well known heroes in Comics with a rich history going back to 1943. Just because he's never been overly commercialized doesn't mean he's somehow a lesser hero lol.

If done right this show will surpass Smallville no problem, there's enough material to have this show go on for decades, EASILY.

My only worry is that I keep seeing multiple synopsis' for this show and cant tell which one (if any) is the real one. I've seen some crap about his mom and sister. First of all, Ollie was an only child and second, Moira (his mother) died with Robert when Ollie was a child. Reoccurring flashbacks is one thing or showing them at the very beginning when they die, but to have either of them in the show while Ollie is GA would just upset the balance and tone of the show.
