Stephen Amell Teases The Arrival Of More JUSTICE LEAGUE Characters On ARROW

With reliable sources indicating that The Flash would make his big screen debut in 2016, many fans were shocked - and perhaps a little horrified - to discover that the character was instead heading to the CW. When asked by Digital Spy how he would feel about being part of Warner Bros.' planned Justice League movie, Stephen Amell once again responded enthusiastically, but teased that the more successful Arrow becomes, the better the odds are that we'll see more characters like The Flash make their debut there! Who could be next? Check out the interview below and be sure to sound off with your thoughts on these comments in the usual place.

Heads up, these bd/dvd interviews were conducted prior to the announcement of The Flash so he's most likely just referring to him.

I'm really happy that the Flash is showing up and I think there is a better than likely chance that a normal Hal Jordan may appear in the third season. I am pretty disappointed that I have to wait until April to see the Flash in costume on Arrow.

I stand by my position that Flash should be debuting in his own big budget feature film, in all it's 3d IMAX Industrial Light & Magic effects glory....That said, I do love this show and am interested in how they pull this off

I can never watch the videos at Josh Wilding's articles!
Btw I don't know if it would be good for WB to make a JL movie with characters that were introduced in TV series... Also, if they did a movie for every superhero and then a team up it would be just like Marvel. But they really have to do something, I've been waiting for a JL movie since I was a kid, Ms. Marvel will probably get her own movie BEFORE Wonder Woman!!!

I love ARROW, Stephen Amell is a great personality (follow him on Facebook or twitter & see). I look forward to seeing more heroes brought in to the series. I enjoyed the other heroes on SMALLVILLE an dthink it is a really unfairly hated series. I mean, SMALLVILLE actually made the Wonder Twins look cool and they are one of the worst hero creations EVER. SMALLVILLE also did well with the JSA, Booster Gold, and Green Arrow just to name a few. It was SMALLVILLE after all that got me into Green Arrow to begin with, never thought much of him before...

I think DC's trying to catch up to MARVEL that's why they're using Arrow to quickly introduce charcters

Glad TV is showing success, although I never have seen an episode.

If this TV is best/ fastest way for WB to push it's own cinematic . . . er, make that Visual Media Universe, then so be it & more power to them.

Just wondering, is Amell's portrayal in line with the traditional lefty-wisecracking cynic?

One of the best superhero shows ever produced. Let's hope Flash follows suit.

Last incarnation (Bart on Smallville) wasn't quite good enough. (Hoodie on a speedster? Dumb.)

No, not yet. Not quite as left as Ollie should be (a la JLU) but he's given hints of his views. Hopefully as he ages he'll be more opinionated.

Expanding the DCCU to the small screen is the smartest and most cost-effective way to expand the audience conciousness of the roster without making solo movies no one will go see.
Can't wait to see Amell shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Cav-El and Batfleck!

@Syam, simply because for many ppl like me it would be taken as a joke and diminish the MoS U with the teenage drama.

In hopes of getting to JL faster, it's not a half bad idea to introduce the characters to the GA and familiarize them with their origins, but, that is shere it should stop. Get better actors to portray the on screen.

"Can't wait to see Amell shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Cav-El and Batfleck!"

This will never happen, thank God! They'll lose all that money they saved on getting these guys some proper acting lessons. You guys saying this are the same ones that probably thought Tom Welling should be Supes on the big screen. Hey, like what you like but you have no concept of what it will take to make a quality JL movie. I actually want the DCCU to continue after JL.

I think Amell is a great actor for TV, I think he should be a kind of Daredevil figure where he's referenced and talked about by the other heroes but he doesn't take part in the big cosmic events.

no thanks... save the characters for movies or animation. last time we got a CW version, it was "the backstreet justice boys"

Anyone who thinks DC will have separate versions of these characters just for film is delusional. TV is the new lucrative avenue for comics, that's clear. What it will take to make a quality JL movie is continuity. Merging tv and movie universes is the obvious and most fan-friendly way to go.

It would make sense to bring some DC characters together in Arrow 1st. DC won't do the individual movies, so at least it won't be just character appearing out of nowhere when this Justice Movie comes out.

Let the CW have their own little DCU, if they want, but please don't link it to the collective, cinematic DCU.

It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out. If they give Barry a typical CW melo-dramatic backstory, I can't see it translating to the big screen very well. They need to figure out how to do one of these shows without all the teen-angst crap. I think Arrow is proving that the comic book elements are far superior to any love drama stuff they're going to weave into the story. Fans are ready for the real deal!

If DC is ramping up to do a JLA, it makes little sense that they would want different actors playing the roles on TV and not on the big screen. Not the way you would want to brand the big screen version and confuse people with different actors playing the same characters. It makes more sense for consistent branding to go with the actors that are already established in the roles. I guess it is all dependent on how involved DC is with Arrow.

Let's just introduce every Justice League member on TV (besides the two everyone on Earth already knows). Because movie spin-offs of television shows are always great and do well at the box office...

That's the most worthless praise ever, unless you're including animated series. Putting Arrow up there with Smallville, the '70s Hulk and Wonder Woman shows, and The Flash is like saying the Cleveland Browns are one of the thirty best teams in football.

Much respect, but, your theory assumes that most ppl who watch movies like Nolan's DK series and the MoS are watching Arrow and Smallville. Sure, the diehard DC fans maybe, but, they account for a very small percentage of the GA that the DCCU are targeting. But, the average Joe is not going to connect.the.dots between these franchises because.they are.so drastically different in tone, content, and, quality.

For those of you comparing this hypothesis to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., may i remind you that there is a big difference. Going from a big budget wildly successful film like The Avengers to television, your expectations are higher for quality programming. Historically, it does not translate well in reverse. In fact, it's straight to DVD/BR bs mostly. And the big wigs at WB know that. Hell, if it were sich a lucrative idea, I'm sure they would have adapted one of their more successful shows by now. No, Amerrow belongs on TV and that's where he will stay.

Enphlieuwince's@ considering the amount of general press that Arrow and the Flash casting have received, I don't think it is just the CBM fans that are exposed to the Arrow characters, but that is purely speculation. Of course, I am coming from the perspective of marketing, branding and public relations perspective, which involves consistency.

One could also argue that Superman and Batman started out as television series and were finally adapted to the big screen. Star Trek would be another. Of course, we do have the Green Hornet and Lone Ranger to back up your point. Lol

If the actors and characters are strong enough, there is no reason they can't pull it off on the big screen, I think Amell's Arrow will be strong enough, especially after this coming season as they develop the character more. Gustin is still an unknown commodity though.

@Ranger14, Lol. True enough Sir. It's just more rare these days. And i agree if they are strong actors give them a shot but i don't get that impression from that show or the CW. I think its a great way to introduce ppl to these characters but i personally don't trust the success of the JL movie to this tier of talent. But, i could be wrong...
