New Jay Chou Green Hornet Interview!

Is Jay Chou the next Bruce Lee?

This from Collider:

Here is a breakdown of what was talked about:

Jay Chou

•We joke around about the language barrier
•I ask him about his concert last night
•What’s it like being anonymous in Los Angeles? I ask that because in Asia he’s as famous as Justin Timberlake
•Was he nervous to take on the role made famous by Bruce Lee
•He’s a director. So I wanted to know what was it like for him to give up control
•The rehearsal process. Does he like rehearsing or does he like finding stuff on set
•How many takes does he like to do

So, is Seth Rogen going to tap into his Comedic genius putting a goofy spin on the always serious Green Hornet? Or will he leave good enough alone and stay true to how the Green Hornet was portrayed in the past?

I will see this, but no Bruce Lee is Jay Chou, thats like saying is "whoever is the next Michael Jordan'? The answer is most certainly No. You cant replace the best there ever was.

The clip of them rolling to gangsters paradise has me sold, definitely stoked to see this movie.

It is clear from the trailer alone that there is going to be a goofy spin on the Green Hornet, which turns me off completely. Major pass.

Ranger you are correct, 2 more questions left "Is this goofiness througout or just in small doses? Does the trailer feature all the goofed parts or only a couple? Either way, it is a turn off, but I refuse to form an opinion before I go see it.

I will definitely watch this movie, Im not old enough to care about how or who portrayed The Green Hornet in the first place. Im only going to watch it cause its Seth Rogan, and Kato. I hope the Action scenes are awesome...

***And there is no Next Bruce Lee. If there was it would have to go to Tony Jaa or Rain(The dude from Ninja Assassin)

Besides dude said that he cannot compare to Bruce. "God and a normal person cannot compare"

The comedy doesn't bother me as I'm not old enough and unfamiliar with the original material. I'm going to see it because it looks like a fun movie and anything based on a comic / superhero is worth seeing in my books. And I personally like Seth roger and can't wait to see what him and Chou do with these two iconic roles.

To me this movie looks awesome. I am not familiar with original though but I don't care lol. After seeing the movie I probably will go back and watch the old serials on YouTube or something. The real reason I want to go see it is because it looks funny and something I'd want to watch.

Plzzz comparing this guy to Bruce not cool, plus the movie isnt going to be a true to the classic comic
flames809
flames809 - 1/11/2011, 9:32 AM
yo who cares if they compare him to Bruce lee if he keeps on practicing you never know he can actually become the next Bruce lee if he keeps on practicing

jman1977- the next Micheal Jackson is Chris brown he dances the same way Micheal used to dance and thats what the people are saying.

Next Bruce Lee?..Minus sharing the role, this guys name shouldn't be in the same sentence as Bruce Lee..Lmao! Not even Jet Li is as good as Bruce. Tony Jaa Maybe..But thats it..lol..If you haven't seen Ong Bak 2..see it.

@ drykillogic22

i've seen the ong bak trilogy, the first one is the best.

if they make another one it should be set modern day.

@Marvel72

Agreed on the Modern day story for the next one but I liked 2 the best. Some of the characters in 1 were out of place and some what annoying.

Bruce Lee is a real martial artist while Jay Chou is a musician. So he could possibly be the actor Bruce Lee was, but never the martial artist.

They could have found a better Kato for this role, however thinking like good executives, they knew casting Jay Chou would mean HUGE sales overseas. I still hope he does a decent job though, and I'm glad he understands that he is no Bruce Lee and trying to imitate that wouldn't of been possible, so he is doing his own thing.

jman@ Any amount of Seth Rogen goofiness for the character of Britt Reid is too much for me. :-)
