Nicholas Cage on walking away from The Green Hornet

Nicholas Cage on walking away from The Green Hornet

It's a "it's me not you" kind of a situation.

So here's Mr. Cage's remarks on the exit from Green Hornet:

"You know, we just had a disagreement about the role, not the movie," Cage told MTV. "I think they have an excellent choice [in Waltz], and everyone’s happy about it."

He also went on to offer his praise for everyone else involved, commending the talents of both Gondry and star/writer/producer Seth Rogen.

"They’re making the movie that they want to make. I have no doubt it will be spectacular," Cage said.

It is always a bad sign when a good actor leaves a development of a movie, I'm not sure about Waltz as a replacement (haven't watch basterds yet - though I heard praises for his performance), but who knows this could still be good. Now we need a trailer so we could get a sense of the movie, if there are any.

-access out. Godspeed!

SHH, Bad L was a great movie..thats the Nic Cage I remember. Proof that when he gets good material and a good director he can act up a storm.

Hey Zach;)..he was the very mean man that killed all of the Jews and ate strudel.

@Clint lol
His best performance was in Con Air and that's not saying much. That movie was a complete mess. why is he walking away from movies anyway? Isn't he broke?

MarkCassidy - 12/4/2009, 7:16 PM
Dude, Con Air featured one of his worst performances! Raising Arizona, Rumble Fish, Wild At Heart, Birdy, Leaving Las Vegas, Vampires Kiss, Moonstruck, Kiss Of Death, Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, Adaptation..all great performances. His problem is he just makes any old shit like Knowing or Bangkok Dangerous and phones it in for the cash..but how anyone can call him a bad actor is beyond me.

The first National Treasure was fantastic! But that's a movie that definitely did not need a sequel.

I was joking about Con Air. The man has talent. He did win an Oscar for his performance in leaving las Vegas. One of my all time favorite movies is City of Angels. His performance is amazing in that movie. Rorshac you're right that he picks roles that do not display his talents.

Nic Cage makes the same movie choices as Cuba Gooding jr and is heading down the Wesley 'straight to dvd' Snipes road. Hopefully Kick Ass will rectify this.

@ BreakUbatman

I hope so man....Family Man was a good movie, and so was weather man....the only movies where he didnt act he played himself in...since he went through a divorce I believe.

Lets just hope that Kickass brings him back.

I'll give him Raising Arizona and Adaptation. Everything else is overacting, ham bone shlock. Cage is one of the worst 'A list' actors of this generation.

All of you who think Cage is a bad actor haven't seen Leaving Las Vegas. And to be fair Ghost Rider did suck(very badly I might add) but thats the directors fault. I honestly cant see why that guy ever directed another movie after Daredevil.
