No Green Hornet for Nicolas cage

Just As It Was Moving Forward It Moves Back Again

So what's the deal with the Green Hornet? First, everyone's excited about the movie being made. Then Seth Rogen gets involved, and everyone gets mad. Then it gets delayed and everyone wants to kill Rogen. Then it starts filming and everyone still wants to kill Rogen. Well, now, it seems that one of the only seriously good casting ideas is bowing out.

Cage, who was said to be playing the villain, reportedly never signed on to do it. Even though most websites have reported that he has already signed on and was ready to get started. Well now it seems that the director won't wait any longer and Cage is already starting to do other projects.

So though the cast isn't ready for the movie, the filming keeps rolling on. The project has no other effects from his leave. So until they get their bad guy, they won't film anything big and evil, but will continue to shoot other scenes that have Seth Rogen looking like a tool and Kato looking...well, lets not talk about it.

So what do you think? Is it better or worse that Cage is out? Does this movie have a chance? Will other actors now start to bow out? Who would be a better actor to play which villain? Discuss it all and more below.

This movie is above Nick Cage if you ask me. I cant remember the last time I saw a movie of his I actually enjoyed. He is one person I would like to put on may imaginary “Plane of Death”. It’s a really great idea… take 100 people you can’t stand and put them on the plane. Then the plane pulls a JFK Jr. into the Atlantic and all your problems are solved. I really reserve this for people I can’t stand like… Shawn Hannity, Rupert Evret and that kid from Sea Quest.

cage fan here since Rasing Arizona,Con Air, 8mm, Leaving Las Vegas and more....

Just watch Knowing and the other one where he can see into the future. Very entertaining dude. His best movie was Leaving Las Vegas. He nailed the character.

Big, hairy deal. As long as they get another quality actor to play the villian, this bit of news isn't going to hurt this flick. It's early enough in the shooting that I'm sure they'll be able to sign somebody of quality soon enough to keep this movie rolling. It's not like the Green Hornet really has a memorable rogue's gallery in the first place. As long as they pick a good actor, it'll be just fine.

seriously?? cage doesn't deserve to act on public access. the guy brings the same emotion to every single role he plays...which is no emotion at all. his johnny blaze was the same exact character from gone in 60 seconds (which by the way is how long it took me to walk out of that movie). nicolas cage...psshhhh.

Well... i hate Cage as much as Rogen so... not too sure where i stand here LOL :P To me, it's really not a big deal. But if they loose Edward James Olmos next, they're screwed!

I agree with thedarkknight666. they should make another Ghost Rider movie. Cage was born to do Ghost rider.

Who cares...Nicolas Cage is over rated. Does anyone remember Ghost Rider and how bad his role as Johnny Blaze was?!? I agree with above statements that he acts the same in all his roles and puts no real emotion into acting. Good riddance Cage, get some one who can actually act.

I'm not looking forward to this movie anyways. I'm a little pissed that they chose him for Big Daddy in Kick Ass, they could've found someone else for the role. I'd rather see Ghost Rider 2 than see him in anything else Comic related.

Great! Now Nick can do Ghost Rider 2 and please make it more serious and dark this time, without the stupid camp!
GR is a horror-type story not a campy kid-flick! And don't let Mark Steven Johnson anywhere near it!

I think this is a lie because if they didnt have cage as their villain why would they would have started filming or start filming without the villain cast at all

I think Cage is a great actor and all, but after seeing the atrocious Ghost Rider movie Im not keen on seeing him in another comic book movie just yet.

i like Nic Cage, but hollywood has to stop using him as their "swiss army knife" actor. They just seem to assume that he will be able to pull off any role that comes his way.

The problem with him is the same problem I have with Kevin Costner- he plays HIMSELF in every movie. Everyone of both of their movies (that i've seen) except for maybe '3k Miles to Graceland' they don't like like they're playing a character to me. Like John Wayne used to do- "i'm so awesome that i just have to show up and say the lines and everyone will say it's great."

It's kind of a Cage heavy market right now. I could do without him for a minute. Just as long as they dont replace him with Jeremy Irons I'll be happy.

He got his chance with Ghostrider. For a guy who said he was a huge fan of the comics he did a terrible job on it. A great character that was just mutilated by his tired acting, maybe it was the script but he looked to me like he couldn't wait to cut the scene and pick up his pay cheque. He has done some good movies but most of them were years ago.

how can anyone say he did an awesome ghost rider? the entire movie was a joke! but he was the funniest part. moltenman, your dead on, for someone who claims to be a huge ghost rider fan, he sure murdered that character.
