Kevin Murphy, manager of studio operations at the facility had this to say:
"The rumours are correct, we are working out the details, and we have a nonrefundable contract to rent stage space to the production."
"It would be: paint dries on one day, they're moving in the next," he told The Times-Picayune. "It's an awesome opportunity."
The revelation follows recent confirmation that production for the Green Lantern movie is moving out of Sydney because of the strengthening Australian dollar adding $20million to the budget.
Rumored also was locations of Canada and Mexico were under consideration.
Production crews would move into the New Orleans facility in December and begin building the sets. Filming would then start in March and continue into July or August 2010.
Nothings been confirmed as yet, but other locations would also be used for shooting too. Ryan Reynolds of course has been confirmed in the title role as Hal Jordan but no other cast members as yet have been named.
On a special and interesting note, Warner Brothers also filmed the DC adaptation of Jonah Hex in New Orleans too, with Josh Brolin playing the lead role of the hard faced Civil War-era gunslinger cowboy, with Megan Fox and John Malkovich. This could be a very good reason the Green Lantern crew is going there?
Martin Campbell (James Bond: Casino Royale) is the man set to direct the Space Opera adaption, and the DC movie is due out on June 17th 2011.
LEEE777 - I still cant actually believe it's happening myself, it's like "The Flash" or "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League," one of them projects that's talked about but never happens. Anyway it is happening and i for one am truly happy that it is, also we at CBM has heard Guy Gardner will be in the origin, though i knew myself he would of course lol, others really didn't. One word, well two Bradley Cooper, perfect for Guy Gardner! ; )
