1. "The idea of a CGI suit sounds lame!"
I have to agree that a CGI suit is not exactly my first option. But sometimes, it can enhance features (e.g., add more brightness) that wouldn't be there if the suit isn't CGI. Besides, I think the suit(s) look fantastic in live action format.
2. "It'll likely have terrible acting in it."
You haven't seen more than three minutes of footage (if that much), and you make such an assumption so soon? I'm not sure about the other cast members, but Ryan Reynolds looks absolutely perfect as a live action translation of Hal Jordan. Sure, the trailer seems to start out on the wrong foot (more on that in the next quote), but the little they showed was excellent, in my opinion.
3. "The trailer starts out like a romance comedy!"
Again, I'd have to agree with the quote. I, personally, don't approve of sexuality being injected into movies (especially franchises that started out clean but were later sexed up...*coughTransformerscough*, and I have a feeling that Green Lantern would, indeed, be a DC version of Iron Man slightly because of the opening seconds of the trailer. Maybe Jordan is a womanizer? Can someone please fill me in?
4. "A Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern would not fit into a Justice League movie."
Who said anything about Reynolds' GL franchise crossing over with other DC characters? I personally think that, from what I've seen, Reynolds looks comfortable in the role enough to not intersect with other comic book heroes.
5. "It'll likely be a flop at the box office."
Considering that he's one of the more popular DC characters (Batman and Superman aside), I'd find it hard to imagine Green Lantern being a flop on his first big-screen adventure, but I know for a fact it won't meet the heights of its predecessors (e.g., Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy). Besides, this is DC's first try at a lesser-known comic character (they've only previously done Superman five times [and a sixth on its way], Batman six [with 7 well on its way], and Catwoman [Don't get me started...I've seen 3 minutes of Catwoman and I almost died], not counting graphic novel characters [such as Jonah Hex, Watchmen, etc]), so it has to be a win at the box office. Otherwise, the chances of other characters such as The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, etc. being reinvented in the 21st century more unlikely.
So, those were some complaints I've noticed about Green Lantern (I'm mostly not directing at specific quotes, by the way), and I just wanted to say some things about 'em. Thanks!
