Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film is still deep in its casting stage as production gears up in London for a June start date. Keeping up with the space epic adaptation’s development, Latino Review’s latest update involves the Guardians’ brutish Drax the Destroyer. While Conan the Barbarian’s Jason Momoa was initially offered the role and is “still in the mix,” former pro wrestler Dave Bautista, who Comic Book Movie’s Alex Lynch revealed was in contention last month, has been named a top contender. “Half want Momoa who is holding out for a better deal, and the other half want Bautista.” In addition, Latino Review also reports that an unknown actor has been found to voice Rocket Raccoon, while X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s Kevin Durand is up for an unknown role in the James Gunn-helmed film. Coincidence? Who knows. Anyhow, Bautista, 44, starred in The Man with the Iron Fists, while Durand, 39, appeared in Resident Evil: Retribution and Real Steel. What do you think?
