GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2 Villain Revealed?

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2 Villain Revealed?

Well, one of the villains anyway. A new report supposedly reveals the identity of the character that will be causing problems for our band of intergalactic A-holes in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy sequel - and it won't be who what you're expecting! Possible SPOILERS ahead...

With Thanos biding his time until his Infinity War with the Avengers, Star Lord, Gamora and friends are going to need a new big bad to battle in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - and they don't get much bigger than Ego the Living Planet! Yes, that's the character Geek.com reckon the crew of The Milano will be going up against in the Marvel sequel.

Ego is... well, exactly as his name suggests: a planet that's alive, with a furry face and everything. After being given consciousness by The Stranger in the Black Galaxy, the newly sentient being set about attempting to take over galaxies, and ran into opposition in the form of various heroes such as Thor, The Fantastic Four, and the Silver Surfer.

Ego is certainly an odd enough fella to fit right into the GOTG universe, but of course we'll have to take this as a rumor for now. Geek.com has been on a roll with Marvel scoops lately - but obviously we've yet to see if any of 'em have panned out.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out May 5, 2017.

I really, realllllllllllly doubt this is true. Not because it's too ridiculous, I just don't think James will go for this. He wants to make a more character driven movie this time around, Ego the friggin living planet does not indicate more character driven. And this Geek.com has posted SEVERAL rumors in the last week alone, and they've all been pretty far-fetched to be honest. This is just helping me form a solid opinion on that site.

My god that's so [frick]ing obscure and insane.

Suicide Squad, GOTG and Doctor Strange need to push the boundaries of weird. I dig it.

I'd honestly be cool if he was the villain as Magus, but not necessarily the main villain. Like, maybe he's on the run constantly because he's the protector of an Infinity stone(and happens to have his dark side), and is being chased by people like Peter Quill's dad perhaps? And the Guardians logically try to get the Infinity stone in safe hands and then Peter encounters his father. I don't know, I'm not a screenwriter but something along the lines of that.

Well, Marvel did feature Ego on their universe poster last year, a poster that was highly influenced by the MCU character rights, I might add.

Nah... I doubt they'll make him a full fleshed character. If this has any truth it will be more like the giant worm scene in Star Wars.
