GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Rumored To Feature Will Poulter As Adam Warlock

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 nicely set the stage for Adam Warlock to make his presence felt in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but is Will Poulter going to be bringing the iconic character to life?

Over the past few days, there have been rumblings on social media that Will Poulter (The Maze Runner) could be set to take on the role of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Writer and director James Gunn usually debunks these things, but he's yet to comment. That doesn't mean it's true, of course!

Now, though, Cosmic Circus has weighed in by claiming that, after checking with their sources, there could be something to this story.

It's certainly not confirmed at this stage, but the site points out that Poulter did drop out of Amazon's The Lord of the Rings TV series due to "scheduling conflicts." Could that be because he's heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? While production on the show's first season wouldn't clash with the Guardians of the Galaxy threequel, the second season would.

The last movie laid the groundwork for Adam Warlock to become an antagonist to the Guardians, though this is a character who could play a major role in this shared world moving forward. Poulter would certainly be an interesting choice for this role, and not who many fans would likely expect to see play the hero.

We'll have to wait and see if this proves to be correct, but it would make sense based on what's revealed here. Gunn has hinted that Vol. 3 is likely to be the final adventure for this iteration of the team, so we're expecting this to be an emotional story with or without Warlock.

Do you think Poulter would be a good fit for Adam Warlock in the MCU?

Always think of him as the kid from Son Of Rambow.

I stood next to him on a London Underground train once

@SimplyAz - cannot get the images of him as Eustace in ‘Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ out of my head. Will forever corrupt my perception of Poulter

Cool Man. His star seems to be continuing to rise, can see Marvel eventually go for him, even if it's not in this role

@SauronthePower - he was one of the few good things in that fairly rubbish film

@Cap1 - probably moreso the characterization than the actor and yes, it was truly awful

@SauronthePower - It was that way for a long time for me, too. That and ‘We’re the Millers.’ But watch Detroit, that sets a VERY different tone for his career.

If Adam Warlock is supposed to be "the perfect being", shouldn't they at least cast someone that looks perfect? He could be a better Pip The Troll.

@X75 - you stick to the talent scouting models, and we’ll leave the acting to actors.

Man, I was hoping they’d get Alexander Skaarsgard for that part. I always thought he would have made a great Thor.

@PapaSpank54 - He's got that agitated, cliche bully look lol. I know nothing about Adam Warlock, so I'm not gonna act like if Poulter is the right choice for him or not.
