According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avatar and Star Trek actress Zoe Saldana is in talks for another sci-fi venture: Marvel’s forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy space epic. The action thespian is in negotiations to join Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista in the James Gunn-directed 2014 adaptation, playing the female lead character. Gamora, described as the “deadliest woman in the galaxy,” is a green-skinned trained assassin and the last of her humanoid species, Zen Whoberi, who were wiped out by the alien race known as the Badoon. In Marvel Comics, Gamora is also the adopted daughter of Thanos, the Mad Titan that cameoed in the mid-credits stinger of The Avengers film last year, but eventually turned on the purple supervillain and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy. Anyhow, Zoe Saldana, 34, will soon appear in the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness, action thriller Out of the Furnace and is set to reprise her Avatar role in 2015 sequel. What do you think?

So far starring Chris Pratt and directed by James Gunn from a screenplay by James Gunn, “Guardians of the Galaxy” is based on the Marvel comic book series “Guardians of the Galaxy,” first published in 1969 and revived in 2008. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will distribute “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014, in 3D. In addition, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; the sequel to “Marvel's The Avengers” on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!
