GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2: Take A Closer Look At Adam Warlock's Cocoon
Adam Warlock's MCU introduction finally came at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and one of the sequel's concept artists has now revealed a close up look at the cocoon which contains the hero...
We all thought Adam Warlock was teased in Guardians of the Galaxy when the heroes paid a visit to The Collector but it was Ayesha who created the fan-favourite character after he defeat at the hands of the team in Vol. 2. Now, we're going to have to wait for the third instalment to be released in a few years before meeting the character but we do have a much closer look at his cocoon in the meantime.
This comes courtesy of freelance concept artist Ian Joyner and he had this to say about the work that went into bringing the impressive looking device to life on the big screen back for James Gunn.
"I did a lot of passes on the Cocoon for the end tag of guardians(SPOILERS!), which was a lot of fun as I always loved when they showed up in the cosmic books from Marvel! The final look shown here had lot of golden hues/tech that tied into the sovereigns world and really looked awesome on screen. Luma did the final pass on this, taking this design/ 3d asset and bringing it to the next level with details and surfacing. I can not wait to see who or what might come out of this thing in the future! If I can get permission I will show the other designs some day as well."
While it would have been good to see Warlock appear in Avengers: Infinity War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does feel like a good place for that to happen and it should be a lot of fun seeing him clash with the team. What do you guys think of this design? Share your thoughts in the usual place.
