Marvel Studios Rumored To Be Looking At Female Directors For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3
With James Gunn no longer directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the hunt is on for a new filmmaker to take charge of the Marvel Comics adaptation and rumour has it that Marvel Studios wants a woman...
With it now clear that Marvel Studios has no intention of rehiring James Gunn to take the helm of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the studio is looking for someone else to take charge of the franchise.
It's thought that Gunn's screenplay will still be used but even that's not guaranteed at this point. What we do know is that there's no way these characters will be left on the shelf for long and a new rumour - which comes our way courtesy of regular rumour dropper @DanielRPK - points to Kevin Feige and company eyeing a female filmmaker to direct the third instalment.
In the past, Gunn (who is now being eyed to write and direct Suicide Squad 2) has said that Vol. 3 is meant to be the end of the trilogy, setting the stage for new cosmic adventures and perhaps even a brand new team of Guardians.
Whether or not that will now change is hard to say but seeing as he will no longer be taking charge of a Marvel Cosmic Universe for Marvel Studios, you have to believe that all those plans are very much up in the air as of right now. Regardless, this news should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt but how would you feel about a female director taking the helm of the threequel?
