MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Shifts Its Release Date To 2021; Noah Centineo Still Attached

Though this new iteration of Masters of the Universe has been in development hell for a while, it seems as though things are picking up with a cast lead (Noah Centineo) and a firm 2021 release date.

Little is known about Sony's latest Masters of the Universe adaptation. Knowledge is limited to who the lead character is, He-Man, the actor portraying him, Netflix hearthrob Noah Centineo, and the writers and directors behind the film. Now, this latest development shows the film debuting early 2021.

According to Deadline, the Aaron and Adam Nee-directed adaptation will be hitting theaters March 5, 2021, a far ways off from in previous Christmas 2019 release date. This all seems like a logical play, due to the fact that production has not even started on the beloved property.

Written by Iron Man's Matt Holloway and Art Mercum, Masters of the Universe will no doubt be a curious project to follow up on. Who knows if the 2021 version could live up to the 1987 camp classic?

Just wanted to confirm, is the Robert Pattinson Batman casting a done deal? In the morning the article said that it's still not confirmed, but the internet is reacting like it is, so I seem to have lost track kinda.

@RageDriver2401 - From what I’ve heard he hasn’t signed yet but the deal is expected to close very soon. Unless the details can’t be worked out he looks to be Batman because both signs want it.

I guess he’s been bulking up 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’ll treat this like Jumanji: WTTJ. Didn’t expect much but then enjoyed more than I thought I would.

@ChangAlang - does anyone else feel his head is small for his frame?

@RageDriver2401 - Maybe they’re going for a cartoony proportioned approach?
😉

@ChangAlang - He still has WAYS to go before he can play He-Man. I mean He-Man is the one character literally defined by his physique. He was an action figure! So the physique aspect is like the bare minimum for this particular character.

@KingLeonidas - Oh yeah, not denying that. I’ve definitely let myself go over the last few years so I won’t be so quick to judge😊

@KingLeonidas - normally I'd disagree, but this is He-man. A non buff He-man is just as wrong as a non black actor playing Shaft. It's a part of the iconic imagery of the character at a very base level.

You said the magic words. Once I hear those four magical words, Masters of the Universe, I only have one question left:

Sony cancel this movie and let Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Santa Monica Studios or Guerilla make an open world RPG instead.

@TheUnworthyThor - Not a fan of video games, I see, but you can't tell me that these studios couldn't make a more accurate video game over the movie we are getting instead.

For those that watched today's Doom Patrol episode, quite the crazy bonkers trippy episode. Don't think I liked it quite as much as the previous two episodes but it was still a good, well done episode. Also, Flex Mentello flexing his muscles for the first time and causing that reaction in everyone was freaking priceless. Was laughing my ass off. What a climax... ;-)
