More From Ron Perlman On Hellboy 3!

A third installment with Del Toro at the helm seems unlikely!

You say you like playing the sidekick, but in Hellboy and Hellboy II you took on the central role. Was that daunting?

"I felt a little bit of pressure when we were setting out to do Hellboy I, which completely dissipated the moment we all walked on to the set. It's really hard to feel pressure when you're around (Mexican director) Guillermo (del Toro), because he makes for a set where it's okay to be stupid, it's okay to do things that are absolutely wrong."

What are the chances of Hellboy III being made?

"I think he (del Toro) is moving in another direction, so if there's another one to be made I'm not sure what his input would be. I would be more than happy to make a third one. He would have to be involved on some level, because he always thought of it as a trilogy ... The take that Guillermo had on finishing the trilogy was epic, and if it doesn't get made it would be unfortunate because it was always designed to have this big finish and I would love to see it being filmed."

Do you think del Toro could change his mind and return to Hellboy?

"He may. Life is full of surprises."

First del Toro says he'd love to do Hellboy III, but he couldn't because Perlman wasn't willing to do it.

Now Perlman's saying he'd love to do Hellboy III, but he can't because del Toro isn't willing to do it.

Stop flip-flopping and make this film, guys! Straight after At the Mountains of Madness! Then Guillermo can do that adaptation of Stephen King's IT he was talking about. Cast Doug Jones as all of Pennywise's forms and tie it in with Ron Howard's Dark Tower series via a reprisal as Dandelo. Cinematic magnificence.

@Flagg
I don't think either of those were the problem on why this film isn't made yet. It's just Guillermo wants to do his own movies first before doing another Hellboy movie. Plus, I heard Hellboy is suppose to die in this one, but Del Toro said he would feel bad to do that before Mike Mignola does in the comics.

@Flagg Yeah, I think Perlman said he wasn't up to it because he did not feel comfortable in the costume and make up

I hope hellboy won't end up like Shrek 3....Because judging from the last film the plot will be him having a hard time being a superhero when he has 2 Demon kids....
