While the Hellboy reboot is moving ahead with pre-production, the film will be going forward with out the moniker Rise Of The Blood Queen as it has been announced the movie has dropped the subtitle.

The new Hellboy reboot recently made the announcement that is rounding out its cast by adding Ian McShane. The seasoned actor is slated to play Hellboy's adoptive father, Professor Broom.

A new announcement has been made regarding the film, but it has nothing to do with casting. IGN is reporting that the reboot, that will star Stranger Things David Harbour, will drop the subtitle Rise Of The Blood Queen. The news comes as a bit of a shock because it was IGN who debuted the subtitle in a piece of promo art a while back.

As of right now, the film is just going by Hellboy and is slated to go into production later this Fall. The reboot that will bring Big Red back to theaters does not have a release date as of now.

@jerryblake - unlikely since Del Toro pretty much adapted a lot of Seed of Destruction in Hellboy 1. Doubt they will go down that road again

I'm fine with it dropping the subtitle but it shouldn't be called Hellboy. We have a film called Hellboy.

anyway, probably the only comicbook movie i'm really interested in right now. i got a found memories about few Hellboy books i read many years ago.

i stopped because after Hellboy: Conqueror Worm i felt the series is kinda repeating itself.

hope that it's gonna look like comic book and not like big budget summer blocbuster movie.
and that they get right Baba Yaga and Rasputin this time around.

@jerryblake - I suggest you check them out. Really dug them.

The film will likely be done right due to Mignola's involvement. While I love the Del Toro films, I'm hoping these films focus more on the horror aspect. Del Toro nailed the fantasy aspect perfectly.
