Thanks to Omelete we get this new featurette for Matthijs van Heijningen The Thing. In this new video we get to see the creation of the creatures in the movie, showing how was the use of CGI for them and more.





Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., The Thing is a prequel to the John Carpenter movie from 1982 and it has on the cast Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Joel Edgerton and Ulrich Thomsen, the movie is set to come on October 14th!

I still plan on not seeing this. I just watched the 80s version and its still great to this day. There are two deaths that if they are not in the movie then its a remake. One is a Norwegian with a huge slit throat by a straight razor and the other being merged with the Thing and burned alive as they fused.

Special effects seems to be perfect but i still think the sequel would have worked better. Norwegians didnt needed more exploring. Plus it seems very stupid that there is americans in the norwegian base. The pilots and Winstead´s scientist character.

Sequel could be [frick]ing cool.

Think about it?!...
Few months after the events of first film. A rescue team comes to solve what is happened and they find the ship and ooops... realise a few creatures inside it.
Or it could be based in the present where a team of scientists is called to Antarctica to explore the space ship from the first film which is now found under the melted ice (result of global warming).
