Shut Up About the New GHOSTBUSTERS, Already!!!!!!!

Sure, the trailers and clips we've recieved haven't been promising, but the backlash has been so severe that it's become somewhat comical. But the internet isn't always right.

Paul Feig's Ghostbusters hits US theaters this Friday, and, while everybody's talking about it, it's not the kind of buzz Feig and Sony Pictures were hoping for. Even before the first trailer hit at the beginning of March, fans of the 1984 classic were jumping to conclusions and pounding away at their keyboards. Then the first trailer dropped and... yeah, it was bad. The angry fanboys (and fangirls) now had reason to freak. The hate-filled comments came thick and fast. Some of my favorites include:
"Movie is suck",
"Looks awful and stupid, only you want my Money but i don't give my Money for this chitt.",
and "pls don't watch this Feminist propaganda".
Suffice to say, people weren't (and still aren't) happy.
Now, this trailer was bad. The second one was fairly funny. But in the past few weeks, five or six clips have dropped. They. Are. Not. Funny. Most people haven't watched them, because they've already given up, but there are a few good jokes and one of them has some pretty neat gadgets.

What I'm saying is, the apprehension this production has been met with is COMPLETELY warranted. But even today, a mere THREE DAYS before the film's release, people are still campaigning to keep Sony from releaseing the movie. If you're doing that, stop. You're delusional and dumb. Because this movie is coming out. Soon. And you're not going to stop it.
Look, I don't think this movie will be great, maybe not even good. But as I write this, it's sitting at 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. That's Certified Fresh, folks! More likely than not, Paul Feig and crew know what they're doing. And even if this thing isn't great, you can still go watch the original. It's not like the original movie isn't still out there or still amazing. The new one will not, I repeat, will NOT "ruin your childhood". Because the original IS STILL THERE. So please, shut up about the new Ghostbusters already.

Unless things have changed people are entitled to their own opinion, but the reason I'm not seeing this movie doesn't have anything to do with the movie being good or bad, but because of what the director, plus cast have said about people.

Look I understand they want to stand behind their movie, but you don't go calling people names or wishing they'd die, because they need to show more self control.

@BlackIceJoe - That's a perfectly legitimate reason. I've seen some of the things that people involved with the film (specifically Paul Feig and Melissa McCarthy) have said, and it's downright unpleasant. People trying to sell a film should not be able to rip to shreds the consumers they're trying to attract.

How dare you infringe upon my right to tell you what not to do. It's my right to do what you don't want me to do, but the moment you start telling me not to tell you what not to tell me, you've crossed a line, mister!

i just wonder

why was this made? only three people want this. seriously ive been counting, ive only seen three people lol.

like, so many movies struggle to get made, yet this dumb dumb [frick]ing idea got a studio behind it and everything! ghostbusters (something male fanboys, a fickle audience would love to see more of) plus

whose idea was this! HER audience and GHOSTBUSTER's audience don't have much overlap do they???

like, there are so many movies where i say "how did this get made" but its just bashing.

with this i want to know exactly how it got made. how? how did the money grubbing hollywood assholes make a movie that doesn't have a proper audience! BAH HUMBUG

@ALostCause - It's because Sony is desperate to get a franchise like the MCU or even Universal's new Monsters Universe. That's the reason this exists.
MarkJira
MarkJira - 7/12/2016, 2:45 PM
@ALostCause - I'll watch it, because I bloody love Red Letter Media, but why is this relevant?

I haven't seen the final movie, so I cannot comment on the quality. I was one of those people who thought the marketing material was awful, and based on the mixed reviews that do tend to be more positive than good, that awful promotion is on the studio.

That being said, the reason I won't watch the movie is simply down to the studio's and the casts reaction to the negative response. To imply that the reason people were disliking this movie was because of some sexist or racist mindset was outright insulting.

I didn't like the trailer as the jokes were either retold or just not funny nothing to do with the stars of the movie. So if a studio adopts the strategy of calling me names and abusing me and saying I am wrong as a means to promote the film then, sorry you ain't getting my cash.

MarkJira
MarkJira - 7/12/2016, 2:52 PM
@Knightrider - That's completely fair, and a good reason not to see the film. I'm only going because I'm curious. It's like Batman v Superman in that regard. I want to see it so that I can have an opinion on it.

@JonTargaryen94 - My article had a purpose. It was to tell people to stop campaigning against this movie, because their efforts are wasted. The movie comes out TOMORROW, and morons are still trying to bargain with Sony about it.

@JonTargaryen94 - Exactly. That's MY point. I'm going to see the movie because I'm surious, but if people have a problem with it, they can just not go see it.
