A few days ago I reported that director David Slade had signed on to direct 'The Last Voyage of the Demeter', and now sources are claiming the Jude Law is currently in negotiations to star as the lead in the film.
Noomi Rapace and Ben Kingsley are already signed on the star as supporting characters, with a script written by Bragi Schut (Season of the Witch), and Phoenix Pictures will be producing.
And now Jude Law as the lead, it has yet to be revealed however if Law will be playing the ships captain, or everyone's favorite blood-sucker, Dracula.
A Russian ship, the Demeter, having weighed anchor at Varna, runs aground on the shores of Whitby, England, during a fierce tempest. All of the crew are missing and presumed dead, and only one body is found, that of the captain tied to the ship’s helm. The captain’s log is recovered and tells of strange events that had taken place during the ship’s journey. These events led to the gradual disappearance of the entire crew apparently owing to a malevolent presence on board the ill-fated ship, told through reports left in the captain’s log during the doomed journey.
I have got to say, I'm extremely excited for this movie, lately the only vampires we've been getting ones who go out in sun light and instead of bursting into flames, screaming in horrifying agony, or melting into goo, they sparkle.....Yea..
I think we're all in desperate need of a good 'ol fashioned Nosferatu styled vampire flick..
