This adaptation of the parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith (also a graphic novel by Tony Lee) has seen its share of directors and cast members (David O Russel and Natalie Portman among them) come and go, and last we had heard it seemed to have finally given up and lay down to rest. But now Variety report that there's life in the old corpse yet, as a new director and star have come aboard. Burr Steers (
Igby Goes Down, Charlie St. Cloud) has apparently signed on to direct, with 24 year old
Mortal Instruments actress Lily Collins in final talks to play the female lead. Darko Entertainment and Panorama Media are producing with Panorama funding.
