Here are some brand new set photos, taken from the designs of H.R Giger, for Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus! Looking at the images, the design of the environment kinda reminds you of the tunnel, that was constructed out of an Aliens mosaic in the first film!

"Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery."

Below is an image from Ridley Scott's Alien for comparison.

Prometheus is scheduled to hit cinemas June 8th, 2012.

That would be sweet if those images were used for miniature filming like what was used in Lord of the Rings. The sets in Alien looked massive and now it's easier to simply make a large portion and shoot close up and add things in later. I hope we get the same wide open feeling in Prometheus...I should go watch Alien again.

"'Kinda' reminds you of the tunnel....?" It IS the tunnel from the first film. That's LV426, verbatim, from the 1979 movie. Same giant alien with the same blowed-out ribcage, same tunnel leading (presumably) to a nest full of facehugger eggs.

Looks like humans visited LV426 well before the Nostromo landed a shuttle there....got a feeling things didn't go very well for them, either.

I don't know If Sir Ridley can cut it anymore, that Robin Hood film was terrible. Probably a rental job on Blu-ray if i'm honest.

Yes Robin Hood was terrible. How can Ridley [frick]up with a cast like this though? And its a preq to "Alien". It will explain "what" "how" and "why" the xenomorphs were created. Fassbender is the Weyland planted droid. His character is very important to the plot.

Fingers crossed for this. Ridley just needs to drop his obsession with Crowe.

Haven't followed too much on it, although I'm excited for this film (who doesn't love the alien movies?) and I'm definitely hoping it explains the mystery of the xenomorphs (where are they from or who created them, found them, etc) Definitely excited for this.
