Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Weighs In On HULK's Uncertain Solo Movie Future

We've heard that Thor: Ragnarok kicks off a three movie story arc for The Hulk which continues into Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 but will the door ever open to a solo movie for the Jade Giant?

Avengers: Age of Ultron left Bruce Banner's future very much up in the air so there was understandably a lot of excitement when we learned that the Planet Hulk storyline would be very loosely adapted in Thor: Ragnarok. Now, the Green Goliath is making the leap from this movie to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 for what's been described as a three movie arc for the iconic Marvel Comics hero.

However, what comes after that? We don't know but it's hard not to hope that whatever Phase 4 looks like includes a solo outing for the fan-favourite character. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now weighed in on that and still seems uncertain that it will ever happen. He is, however, excited to see that there's so much interest surrounding The Hulk so perhaps that will change in the near future.

"I think that back and forth continues, and I don’t know if it will ever happen. But I will tell you, it makes me very, very happy going from a world, ten years ago, when people were questioning the viability of Hulk in a standalone film, to getting asked every other interview, ‘When will there be another standalone Hulk?'" It seems the answer to that question is one we'll have to wait for.

With the rights to a solo Hulk franchise tied up at Universal, making the movie happen is clear complicated but Disney may end up spending the money to get those back as the character's popularity rises. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts on this news down below.

I'm still wondering Infinity War and Avengers 4 will complete Hulk's character arc.

For a while, I've thought the only real solo Hulk stuff that would work in live action is a TV show about Bruce Banner. Just having him wandering the world sort of like the Bixby show (but not as cheesy), and when he's about the change, the show just cuts to black. Then we fade back in to see Banner in the aftermath and how he reacts to the world he's blown up around himself.

The Hulk basically overshadows everything else that he's in when he's the focus. It just becomes a monster movie (and as much as I like a Gamora or Godzilla movie... they aren't really "good" films, and they rely on tropes that usually work against character development and emotional engagement).

@Spock0Clock -

Would be an interesting idea and could get around without showing the Hulk

@Spock0Clock - I disagree with your assessment that godzilla or gamora movies arent "good" Ive seen plenty with good human characters AND MONSTERS.

@Doomsday8888 - Haha, exactly. I guess there's room for a big pay-off segment for the finale (like if the arc of the season is Banner regaining a working relationship with the Hulk), if a TV budget can swing it. But Hulk Fan Blue Balls are my primary goal.

Love Ruffalo as the Hulk, but still think that the Hulk from The Incredible Hulk looked the best.
