Iron Man 2 IMAX Release Confirmed!

IMAX, Marvel and Paramount have announced that Iron Man 2 will be released in digital IMAX theaters.

"The success of the first 'Iron Man' movie catapulted the franchise from the comic books to theatre screens, and we're excited that the IMAX format will offer fans an even more immersive way to experience the sequel," said Tim Connors, Chief Operating Officer, Marvel Studios.

Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment had this to say, "We're thrilled to once again be working with Paramount and our long time friends at Marvel Entertainment as we help to bring their characters to life in IMAX."

Iron Man 2 is scheduled to be released on April 30th in the UK and in America on May 7 later this year!

Yes, that's why all movies out are in Imax.

Igiot! There are still very limited Imax theatrical release compared to the amount of films that come out in a year. I would wager less than 5% get an Imax release.

I always found IMAX too big to enjoy a movie like this. I actually missed some details in TDK. It was like, an extreme closeup of batman`s chin while the Joker did Lord knows what on the other side of the screen.

It was so big, I didn`t even know it was Two-Face! I was like "who`s that guy with the face thats regular?".

Anyway I will deffo see it in IMAX the first time,but then in regular theaters all the other times LOL

I ended up seeing IM1 in the theater five bloody times! This one might even be more.

@ lobsterjohnson TDK being in imax was dumb. They shot what 6 scenes for it? Chris Nolan says he did it because there was so much going on, he wanted you to be able to see it all. Look, I loved TDK but its not like Transformers (or even ROTF) where imax actually benifits the experience because so much IS ACTUALLY going on. Plus with imax, your resolution will be higher. However it will never been noticeable once the movie hits film or even is compressed onto a hard drive...Just saying

As for IM2...Sure do Imax I hope it will be incredible
