"This was my design for Fin Fang Foom for the Iron Man Viva Las Vegas book I was doing with Jon Favreau. But this image in particular was done for the IM movie and used as a billboard in one of the scenes where Iron Man flies past it. It's very quick, but Jon wanted to have a kind of a cool Easter egg in there."





Sever88: And impressive he is, although I wish we had found out that Fing Fong Foom would have a bigger part in the movie. It would be awesome to have a Godzilla-esque fight in the movie. Who knows maybe it could lead onto the third of the Iron Man movie franchise.

I wish the big guy was putting in a full on appearance. That's a Marvel UBER classic.
I have a really old comic with him in it in which he USES THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA AS A WHIP rofl

Looks metallic, like a decepticon or something. Why would there be a billboard of Foom? Is he selling something?

Come on down to Fin Fang Foom's used cars! I can make anything on the lot a sub compact in a quick step!

Eh they haven't built up to a good plot for Fing Fang Foom yet.

They are realistic in this series. Even The Mandarin is supposedly watered-down. But they are branching out....maybe the third movie plot will be on a large-scale.

Well,In the comic they say Fing Fang Foom is a Giant Statue.
So maybe the billboard is like a ad for a Fing Fang Foom exhibit.

I really doubt we will see Foom in a movie..but, ya never know.

If they have it in the 3rd film, Tony won't be extremely weirded out by it. I mean, he'll have fought alongside Thor, so yeah.

very cool. fin fang foom is awesome, but i don't really think he'd be the right choice for an iron man character. an easter egg, though, is good fun!

If Iron Man flies past Foom on a billboard it's probably a movie billboard and not intended to be a hint of a future character just a nod to those true CBMgoers who know the character and can appreciate the gesture - kind of like the huge Superman/Batman movie poster in the beginning of Legend.

I agree with In Space - Foom can be a exhibit that gets awakened in a future film - possibly by either Loki in the Avengers Movie or by the Mandarin after Iron Man kicks his butt in IM-3 - would be a nice segue into Avengers 2. He he(laughing with glee while rubbing palms together before a sinister smile - ala the Grinch).

Fav won't use Foom in any Iron Man film, his movies are too reality based for Foom. Comics are one thing, movies are another, it just won't work on screen.

@Assassin666 - Iron Man is supposed to be in the same reality as Thor, Loki and all the other Marvel heroes and villains including Surtur and Fin Fam Foom. Whether or not any of them will be used is debatable but Iron Man was never intended to be The Dark Knight.

As far as it working on screen? Hey, that pic up top looks a lot like armor to me. Anything's possible in this day and age of movie cgi.

But NOT in the "review" section. There is way too much comic news when put against film reviews so it really sucks for every one that worked hard on their review to have it flushed in a day's time by 40 comic news. There is a place for comic news on a comic book MOVIE website but only in it's rightful tab.

Well you already got different tabs to choose from on the main page: What's new, news, features, scoops, editorials, interviews, reviews, fan fic. IMO, "interviews" could be concidered as "features" which would leave a tab for comics only. That would work.
