'Iron Man 2' director Jon Favreau nicely leveraged MySpace during the development and production of the first movie as a way of staying in contact with the fans and cultivating a community around the film. This time around he's adding Twitter to his arsenal.

Case in point: Last night's tweet:

"Great rehearsal today with Gwyneth, RDJ and Don Cheadle."

So, there you have it. Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr and Don Cheadle are walking through the 'Iron Man 2' script in prep for filming in April.

Six hours earlier, Favreau also tweeted:

"I'm sitting here with Gwyneth. She wants to know why she should tweet."

Anyone have an answer for Ms. Paltrow? In the way of news this isnt to much. But for people who use the Twitter system, they now know that Favs will be using that service as well as Myspace to make announcements during production of Iron Man 2. Stay tuned for further updates as they develop.

Why should anyone Tweet? Twitter is a bullshit form of communication of unimportant data. Case in point: Fav's tweet from last night. "Great rehearsal". Big deal IMHO. Tell us when something important happens, and that's tough to do with the limitations of Twitter.

That's a pretty judgmental thing ot say, SirPrize. Ya think she may just not get what the big deal is about Twitter? It probably doesn't have anything to do with her ego.

@Sirprize: I guess I must be an arrogant bastard too, cause I see no point in Twitter, lol. Oh... wait... I am an arrogant bastard.

@LastSon1027: I usually don't agree with your posts, but since your not a douche about the things you talk about, I respect your opinions. This post sir, I can get 100% behind you.

dang that twitter its spreading, Well it seems that Jon is trying to reach the twitter audience. i just hope it doesn't take the anticipation away from the movie by letting us know everything about the movie to the point that its overkill.

I think I picked up the "Twitter" over spring break. But I got a shot and it went away:)

Twitter is just as big of a waste of time as MySpace and Facebook. They are addictions. Granted, I don't utilize my time in the most constructive ways (take my posting this, for example), but come on people. Do you really think anyone cares that your baby pooped five minutes ago or that you cut your brown-eye last night when wiping after a night with draft beer and Taco Bell?

Twitter is the retarded version of Facebook. Myspace is for childen now. Why doesnt Favreau just blog from his own website which is probably more respected and believable than Twitter.

God I hate Twitter. I didn't even hear about a few years ago and now it's the "In" thing. I've looked into it, but it's nothing special. It's a dumbed down version of Myspace as LaffaTaffa stated. I wonder if it will be around in a few years time? Hopefully not.
