When Clark Gregg made his appearance known in 2008's
Iron Man movie, no one truly knew the scope of his character. After all, Agent Coulson had never appeared in Marvel Comics before the movie was released. Not only has the introduction of S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury's apparent go-to-guy been important to tying the different films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe together, but his newly released backstory in movie material all on it's own.
Marvel has just released the latest addition to their digital comics line,
PHIL COULSON: AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D.. Not only does the story fall neatly into Marvel movie continuity, but it will give readers a better perspective of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ongoing battle with the secret terrorist organization known as the Ten Rings.
