Robert Downey Jr. Gets Tossed Like A Rag Doll In IRON MAN 3 "Calling The Suit" Clip

Iron Man 3 is being released digitally on September 3rd, but for us patient few, you can pick up a copy of the film on DVD or Blu-ray September 24th. While you wait, take a look at a behind-the-scenes "Calling The Suit" clip from a new featurette.

Iron Man 3 boasted lots of new armor, although we didn't get to see them in action very often, but one suit did get a lot screen time, the Mark 42 (XLII). What makes the Mark 42 so special, is that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) implanted a chip into his arm so that he could mentally communicate with the armor. Allowing him to put on the suit by having it assemble onto his body from separate pieces. These separate pieces also had the ability to fly, which allowed Tony to travel great distances without his armor, and then later call upon it when needed.

At the end of the day, that suit along with all of Tony's suits, were destroyed by J.A.R.V.I.S. following Tony's instruction. Not like he is gonna need any of those, right? Oh wait, in June Marvel announced that RDJ was coming back for the next two Avengers films. So, he better get his butt in gear and start making more suits.

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3″ pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Iron Man 3 was directed by Shane Black, from a screenplay written by Drew Pearce. The film opened in theaters May 3, 2013. It stars: Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Gwyneth Paltrow (Virginia Potts), Don Cheadle (Col. James Rhodes), and Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin.

I was disappointed with Iron Man 3, but i won't deny it was entertaining....on par with IM2 in my opinion. IM1 was incredible, the two sequels for me are no brainer popcorn movies.

I do enjoy bts footage and love RDJ as Tony, hopefully he doesn't leave the series too soon!

He's already designed and made the suits once. It won't be that hard to make them again. Not that big of a problem.

1. The Wolverine/ 8.5

2. MOS/ 8.0

3 IM3/ 7.0

It's been kind of an underwhelming year for CBMs. I hope Thor: The Dark World can bring the magic back.

I got a feeling Thor: The Dark World will be the No1 CBM of the year, cannot wait.

In my opinion IM3 has better plot and character development than the likes of Incredible hulk, Thor, IM2 and even the avengers.

iron man 3 was not good at all. I watched it during midnight in imax, and only one guy clapped in a packed theater. Whereas MOS was full of applause.

I full well know who the comics mandarin is. I know the extremis storyline as well. I know that AIM was a subdivision of HYDRA. With all that said I love IM3 and think its the best CBM of the year so far. Yea I said it get over it.

All things considered, IM3 was good and I'm sure it'll fit into the MCU - which is probably why they did it the way they did. Granted, it's not true to the comics, but then again, was the Avengers? How about Thor? Just remember the MCU is not the same as the comics - it's an interpretation. I for one am enjoying it all. Some more than others, but these are enjoyable films nonetheless.

1. Ridiculous 80's flashback with zit covered Guy Pierce.
2. Retarded motivation for villain to get revenge
3. A medical procedure that causes people to explode so instead of, you know, changing the formula, they invent a fake terrorist to explain the result
4. Dragon breath
5. Hey Tony, what about your [frick]ing missiles? Yeah, the ones that killed hundreds of bad guys in Avengers? Why not use some of those?
6. Repeated crotch shots from flying armor.
7. Sparkling glitter bombs made from Christmas ornaments.
8. Hey Tony, you have like 50 suits in storage, this film could have been over an hour ago.
