DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.

Dredd stars Karl Urban (Star Trek), Olivia Thirlby (Juno) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones). The film opens in 3D September 21st.

This movie wont be high in sci-fi tech & gadgetry. But it will be a blood & guts action movie. Seen some production pics & weapon designs.

Why has it taken so long for a trailer to come, doesn't the movie come out in september?

As it's the first OFFICIAL PROMOTIONAL IMAGE and it's clearly a poster type pose by the lead character in the film...

I'd say it's as good as a poster. :)

Looks pretty good although I'm not a fan of the chest padding. But the overall mood it captures is very much Judge Dredd. :) :)

People are arguing whether or not it's a poster?

!!!!!!!!!!!!

For months there's been NOTHING about this film and as soon as we get a poster or cover or whatever it is, people complain about what it is!!!!!

Crazy.

Just be grateful we've got an official promo image. I, for one, am grateful. I'm actually getting a bit more excited/interested because we've seen some PROMOTION of the film. People interested in this film should at least be happy to see this image rather than saying in that geeky internet way

"Well it's not a poster!"

Who cares what it is. It's a NEW IMAGE. Be happy for some new stuff. I am. :))

I think going with a darker fabric and no chest padding would have looked considerably better and closer to the original version:

I altered the eagle shoulder pad too. It's a flat design rather than an actual eagle's head sticking out.

It's just a little misleading to have the title say "poster" when, despite the source misusing the word, it clearly is NOT a one-sheet.

Small edits like this are what annoy me about this site. I've been here for years and that's the only fault I have found. HORRIBLE editing and misunderstanding of terms.

@nailbiter. I would have still opened your article had the title read, "Hollywood Reporter cover reveals NEW image of Judge DREDD from the upcoming Reboot!"

Having said that, I'm not tryna bust your balls, just letting you know I, along with many others, were pretty disappointed to not see an official MOVIE POSTER.

"It was produced by the Hollywood Reporter, it's NOT OFFICIAL nor is it a poster, that's why it has HOLLYWOOD REPORTER splashed across the top. It's a magazine cover as LYRICIS have said it's 'IN' THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER not on a wall or lobby somewhere."

So DNA Films and IM Global don't have any say what is put on that magazine cover? Surely DNA Films gave them that image or gave them consent.

How do you know it's not official? You come over as really ignorant sometimes, Instant. You cannot state AS FACT it's not official. If DNA Films or IM Global gave consent for that image to be used then it's official.

I'm amazed people like Sketch and Instant have the sheer arrogance to know that is not an official teaser poster!

Were you at the meeting when that image was created?

No.

Do you know who did the logo?

No.

Do you know who did that image? The guy's name? Who he works for?

No.

Do you know for a FACT DNA Films did not commission that image to be a teaser poster?

No.

So what makes you such experts on it not being official? It's clearly a marketing image designed to promote the film. That makes it official. Heck, it has RELIANCE and IM GLOBAL on the image. The two financiers of the film. Don't you think they would know about this image before it was put on a cover of a magazine? Of course they would - so please stop with this nonsense that it's not official.

Anyone even if it's not official or not a proper poster (!)... it's sad that some people don't want to discuss the ACTUAL IMAGE!

Epic fail, Instant and Sketch.

Instant, you are one sad Judge Dredd fan. You come onto this forum and you don't discuss the content of the image, you don't get excited or say "don't like it" - you have a geek about whether or not it's official.

If you said "don't like the poster!" okay, you don't like it but to go on about it not being official is just sad. It's like you got nothing to say about the actual image.

"No one is saying the image isn't official, we're saying it's NOT A POSTER. Comprende?"

What the (rude word)?!!!!!!!

You posted this:

"It was produced by the Hollywood Reporter, it's NOT OFFICIAL "

You posted: "IT'S NOT OFFICIAL" and now you're saying "no-one is saying the image isn't official."

Man, you're one bad liar or have you got the memory of a goldfish?

dreddhead123
dreddhead123 - 5/17/2012, 5:49 PM
Instant, you have zero credibility. You say it isn't official and then say the complete opposite.

You're so clueless you can't even remember what you post.

What an idiot. Not wishing to be too unkind or be banned for saying that but you seem to be idiotic.

dreddhead123 - 5/17/2012, 5:53 PM
Oh, you've come up with the "language comprehension is lost on you" lame excuse.

You said "it's not official." And then said "no-one is saying it's not official."

What is there not to understand? You said one thing then contradicted yourself. I understand your language, I comprehend it. You can't use that as an excuse.

"this looks like utter shite, im a graphic designer and if i came up with this i'd be taken out back and shot. this is a terrible terrible photoshop."

Well at least it's something new.

This is turning out to be one crappy discussion. Perhaps it should be locked! LOL

No offence meant. Just stating my opinion. (big grin)
