Back in May, it was announced that Zack Snyder was stepping down from Justice League, handing the reins over to Joss Whedon to complete the film. Since then, a lot has been made about how much the movie may or may not be altered, from how extensive the reshoots were to how different the finished film will be from Zack's vision.

In an interview with Geek Magazine (via Screen Rant), actor Ray Fisher, who will be playing Cyborg , opened up on his experience acting under the direction of Whedon. "
They’re two very different people, but at the end of the day, they’re two very different people who basically want the same thing, and that’s to tell the best possible story for these characters and get them launched off into a really great direction." Fisher said. "While it’s a different directing style, the fact that Zack had handed the reins to him is, like, ‘You just have to trust the process.’ While there wasn’t a lot of time to build that rapport that you would normally have with a director, at the end of the day, it’s about making sure that the fans have the best possible experience that we can possibly give them."

Fisher also briefly brought up his stance on all those rumors that have popped up these last few months since Snyder's departure, saying, "
So for all the rumor mill stuff, listen. I think there’s a lot of needless negativity that I’m personally dedicating myself not to become a part of."

Justice League opens in theaters November 17, 2017. As always, share your thoughts in the comments below.

Whedon really deserves a co-director credit. He already made changes to the story and added his own scenes. He also put a different music score with Danny Elfman and Whedon is editing the movie. It's unfair to Whedon for Snyder to take all the credit as a director when he left the job half way through.

@Griela - the thing is that the directors guild won't allow it. Unless it is a directing team or siblings or spouses they don't allow co director credits. It's a real shame but thems the breaks.

@Griela - We really don't know exactly the extent, to be fair. Modern media and the internet glorifies any given thing and throws conflicting reports left and right. For all intents and purposes, we should have gotten a trailer, or three, and then the movie. No other news, like the old days.

@Griela - If we knew exactly how much scenes then that would be a different story.

@Griela - Zack didn't leave half way through. He left when they were already in post production

@Beetleborg - Didn't Snyder leave after his rough cut? That's very early in post-production. I don't know how Whedon got a Screenplay Credit without having time to make his own creative decisions and then reshoot them. Whedon wrote and directed. The rough cut is a long ways away from the final cut.

@Griela - nothing that you said affects what I said.
Zack was there through Pre-production, filming, and into post production. That's not halfway through.
Whedon wrote and directed additional scenes, the vast majority will still be Snyder's work. He got a screenplay credit for writing the additional scenes

@Griela - Joss is absolutely deserving of a co-director credit and this situation is a perfect example of why the directors guild of america needs to change how they award someone director/co-director credit.

@Beetleborg - Zack was NOT there through Joss taking over directing duties and post production. Zack HIMSELF even said this! Go away.
Griela
Griela - 10/7/2017, 2:18 PM
@Beetleborg - It does because post-production usually takes longer than principal photography. That's roughly half way whether you like it or not.

The majority of the principal photography is Snyder's work. But changing the principal photography and the vast majority of post-production is under Whedon's complete creative control.
Beetleborg

@cultureinject - what are you even talking about? I didn't say he was there when Whedon was. But he was involved on the post production before Whedon, obviously, since we had trailers before Whedon joined.
Beetleborg
Beetleborg - 10/7/2017, 2:56 PM
@Griela - Zack Snyder's been working on this film for what like 2 years and Whedon has been for half a year, maybe. But okay, Half way thru...
Griela
Griela - 10/7/2017, 4:41 PM
@Beetleborg - Yeah but Whedon is very good at what he does. He basically did the same with Avengers. Marvel got him on late and he was rewriting Avengers while he was filming. Snyder is known for shooting a ton of footage that gets left out.

@MosquitoFarmer - it will be easy to see how much was his though. If it sucks, it’s in line with the quality of Snyder’s work, if it’s good, then we’ll know Wheddon’s involvement was due to DC finally saying “enough, this shit is now working, we need a storyteller”.

@Gunslinger - I don’t mind people disliking his work, but there’s a point when this hateful stuff gets excessive. And I’m not saying he is even close to a perfect film-maker/storyteller.
Gunslinger
Gunslinger - 10/8/2017, 5:30 PM
@MosquitoFarmer - Not hateful, trust me I know of the tragedy that befell him and being a father myself I can only imagine how insanely painful it must be. And to be completely honest, as a person (from the little we see in interviews etc) he seems to be a really decent guy. However, I grew up with comics and his vision (which then became a strict guideline for the direction the DCEU would take) was extremely aggravating. But that's done. What still bothers me here though, in this site in particular is the small but vocal group of trolls who describe him as the second coming of Christ in film terms. That would be Villeneuve and Nolan. And even Nolan isn't perfect (Villeneuve is doing really well so far).

I do admit to getting some pleasure of trolling the trolls. It's not even about Snyder anymore, it's about the apologists who insist in saying he was a visionary due to his work. He has a certain visual style that I admire. But there is no connective tissue between set pieces, it's not his forte. But that's no longer a concern as the universe is clearly trying to distance itself from those errors. But the trolls.... well, I love to rustle them jimmies.

@Gunslinger - I’m not fond of either end of the spectrum, whether trolling or not. Overly fond or overly negative (especially just for the sake of it) gets obnoxious real fast. And to be fair I’d like to see Snyder dial it back to something more like his Dawn of the Dead days. At the very least, just more concise film-making (and I’m not strictly knocking his work).
