WB Reportedly Sends JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Back To The Drawing Board After Director Pitches Underwhelm

There have been several recent rumors of WB zeroing in on a potential director for its Justice League Dark movie, but would-be director presentations failed to resonate with studio execs.

Variety reporter Justin Kroll took to Twitter to update the status of the Justice League Dark adaptation from WB. Apparently, pitches by potential directors left WB execs wanting more and as such, the film is going to have a retooling of the script. Despite several recent candidate rumors,  Daniel Espinosa (Life, Safe House) and Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) were said to be two known finalists.

Since the project's announcement back in November 2012,
Guillermo del Toro was attached to direct but following a lukewarm box office performance by Pacific Rim, WB went in another direction. Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) was the next director to board the project in August 2016.  Liman left the film in May 2017 to focus on Chaos Walking. IT director Andy Muschietti was rumored to be WB's first choice to replace Liman but he signed up for Robotech back in July.
