JUSTICE LEAGUE Speculation: How Will Superman Come Back To Life?

Warner Bros. has been very careful in their marketing campaign for Justice League, only showing the Man of Steel in dream sequences. We know he's coming back, but how?

In almost every Justice League teaser, trailer, TV spot and poster, Superman’s absence has been noticeable. However, based off the way fans responded to the Doomsday reveal in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailers, it’s probably a good thing that Warner Bros. are taking the Luke Skywalker approach to film marketing on this one.

Just because we know Superman is going to be in the movie, it doesn’t mean we need to see him in the trailers. But one of the best parts about keeping Superman behind the curtain until November 17th is that it gives us room to speculate about his return.

It’s possible that Superman is in a kind of low power mode, and is just recouping energy before he returns. But since he is buried six feet under, there’s a chance Clark is going to need some help coming back to life unless he plans on emerging from his grave like in the final scene of Carrie.

A way to pay homage to the famous comic arc The Death and Return of Superman would be to bring Kal-El back to life through a regeneration matrix. It’s possible that one exists in the Arctic scout ship that basically acts as the DCEU’s Fortress of Solitude.

Another possibility is that the Flash might bring him back by travelling through time, but since DC is planning a Flashpoint movie, it makes more sense to save this element of Barry Allen’s powers for later.

How do you think Superman is coming back? Or is Justice League not going to explain his ressurection at all? Share your thoughts in the comments.
