Should Ryan Reynolds be in Justice League?

For the good of the DC cinematic universe. We dont have time for anymore rebooted main characters so in this case "if its broke fix it!

With the success of MAN OF STEEL, we know that Justice League will happen. However, people are saying Christian Bale should play Batman again, which is an awful idea for obvious reasons. Green Lantern was not a huge success, but not so bad that a sequel won't work. Give him a proper enemy with a personality lose the god awful mask and we have a good movie. But this isn't about a sequel at the moment. Its about JUSTICE LEAGUE. Henry Cavill will be our Superman. Ryan Reynolds should be our Green Lantern because the concept of his powers in the film was genius. Suits that were constantly active and energized. The constructs were great and most of all its already established. We have two pieces to a 6 piece puzzle, let's not go back to one.

I think with a different director for the sequel they could correct the problems from the first one. Make it more serious. Then use him for the JL movie.

I agree. I also think that this film was too much of a Ryan Reynolds vehicle. They clearly wrote (or re-wrote) the script with him in mind. His standard comedic approach to roles is just not Hal Jordan. If they wanted a comedic (sort-of) Green Lantern, then they should have made one based on Guy Gardner. Hal is not a goofball. I'm certain that Reynolds can pull it off. Just be true to the character. I doubt, however, that this will happen. I'm concerned that the studio is too afraid of the negative backlash if they have Reynolds return to the role.

Oh yeah... and I'd give him boots next time. :)

I agree, Hal jordan fromt he comics wasnt the Hal jordan from the movie, Reynolds approach was just too comedic.

Reynolds can do a good Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, he just had an iffy script to work with. And admittedly, the Green Lantern story wasn't all that good.

If WB/DC are really going to give us a JLA movie, they should stick with Reynolds and Cavill, but bring in a different actor for Batman. If they're smart, they'll reverse engineer Avengers by using familiar actors for some characters, but introduce other characters in JLA.

If audiences respond well to the additional characters, give them some solo movies afterwards.

I'm sorry but how would Bales Batman be awful idea again?

I'm just wondering because you seem a lot smarter than me and a statement like that must mean you have a VERY good reason to suggest why the best received version of the character in years wouldn't fit in with the Justice League.

But I agree with your point on Reynolds. Give him the chance.

YES YES YES!!! Ryan IS Hal Jordan!!!!!!!!!!!

Please don't turn Green Lantern into the Hulk!!! Sure Ruffalo is the perfect Bruce Banner/Hulk, but it took so long to get to this point, I just have a bad taste in my mouth for the character from the musical chairs actors.

Ryan did an AWESOME job in the movie, he was dead on serious hero when he had to, and smart ass pilot when he had to be. So, as a DIE HARD Green Lantern fan, I say, I would rather see Green Lantern omitted from the JLA than have someone other than RR play him....UNLESS,

we get a KICK ASS Green Lantern sequel that's 2.5+ hours of awesome storytelling/action focusing on a war with Sinestro for the universe...and to win this war, new Lanterns are introduced to assist the Hal-led Corps:

get Idris Elba as John Stewart and Charlie Hunnam as Guy Gardner (then have a credits scene with Zach Effron as Kyle Rayner secretly being appointed the "Torchbearer" by Ganthet in case of a total loss of the Corps")


THEN, and only THEN could I accept another actor holding GL down in the JLA movie while Hal was off leading the Corps. (would be cool if John Stewart called in for Hal/Guy to give a hand in the epic final battle though)

The obvious reasons that nolans batman couldn't come back is when batman meets superman he was in his prime. After an 8 year break bruce wayne is broken to the point where he needs high tech knee braces. And soon after coming out of retirement had his back broken by bane. Christain Bale is no where near yhe stature of henry caville. He should at least be near the same level as not to giving an impression of being intimidated by this larger than life figure. @foreverpowerful

Things like this piss me off. This is a new DCCU, what is so confusing about that? Nolan, Goyer, and Snyder have stated that several times. Whether its through a reboot or a cameo in the Batman/Superman movie, Reynolds and no one ever involved in that piece of shit will ever be associated with the DCCU that Man of Steel created. Also, if you think that Reynolds was a good choice or if the film "wasn't that bad", kill yourself.

I think that would be an awesome idea. But, of course, you have to compete with unfortunate reality that WB will be all like "oh but it had such bad reviews, we should definitely recast it in order to distinguish that this is completely separate from the GL movie and therefore it hopefully won't be given a bad review" ...or something along those lines. Reynolds is a great actor, and with a director who knows what they are doing with the GL universe, and a script that reflects from a quintessential story arc of the GL comics that is actually written well, then a sequel would definitely be a good movie. Heck if they'd thought of that for the first movie, then it wouldn't have done so horribly under general public scrutiny.

@IronPatriotAvenger - I completely agree with what you have said. Considering the mid-credits clip of Sinestro and the yellow power ring, they could build on Sinstro's transition from the GLC to the Sinstro Corps, while introducing Guy Gardner and John Stewart into the mix. The final battle revolving around Sinstro trying to destroy Oa and the GLC and then the final face-off between Hal and Sinstro, similar to that seen in the animated film Green Lantern: First Flight.
