The good people over at Obsessed with Film have managed to get their hands on a few tidbits of information that, all in all, make up for much of what we already knew. However there are a few bits in there that will be of interest.
It looks like Owen Paterson is indeed working on the Justice League movie. Paterson has been involved as production designer with a lot of the fan favorites, including the Matrix trilogy, Speed Racer and V for Vendetta. His involvement with JL bodes well.
Another tidbit that makes me happy considering my love of the Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies is the fact that WETA will also be doing special effects makeup, in addition to the special effects. Slated for a lot of green screen work, it will still be mostly a live-action pic rather than a 300-esque movie.
Lastly it looks as if the movie will only go ahead when any possibility of a Screen Actors Guild of America strike is passed. Speaking to OWF, an agent said that “The film is to be done entirely in Australia, with Australian crew. They still have concerns about the script and actors’ strike. It most likely will not start before a SAG agreement is reached.”
All in all, it looks like good times ahead for the production of this movie. Whether it will amount to anything worthwhile is a totally different question, and one I won’t belabor any further.
