JUSTICE LEAGUE: Our Best Look Yet At Steppenwolf's Monstrous Visage Has Been Revealed

A render which was made for one of Mattel's Justice League action figures has been revealed and it offers up our best look yet at how the villain will appear in the movie. He looks fierce. And gross.

Justice League toys are already hitting shelves and one of their designers has now taken to social media to share his take on upcoming action figures featuring the likenesses of both Steppenwolf and his Parademons. While they're obviously not accurate in terms of colouring, these provide a detailed look at the intricate detailing on the suits of the latter and the hideousness of their monstrous leader.

In the comics, Steppenwolf has always had a humanoid appearance so Zack Snyder's decision to take him down such a monstrous route is unexpected. Darkseid is expected to appear early on in Justice League so here's hoping the filmmaker has provided a more faithful take on that villain at least!

It's Ciaran Hinds' Steppenwolf who looks set to be the big bad in this movie, though, so we'll have to wait for the sequel - if one happens - to see the team go to war with Darkseid. Of course, should another director take over the franchise, things could head in a very different
direction. We'll have to wait and see on that front but let us know your thoughts on these Justice League designs down below.

I'm excited to see Steppenwolf in the movie!

@DashParr -

I'm not sure why though. Honestly this movie would have been better suited to just having the parademons as a threat - as giving a main bad coupled with introducing tons of heroes who have not been on-screen in the cinematic universe prior is just going to end up with either a wasted villain or a bloated plot.

@Scarilian - Here is the thing though. The only character that folks are non DC people are not familiar with is Cyborg. The rest of the Justice League are Iconic. I hope they don't pull a Marvel with a bad villain but I think lots of the Big Bad, from the beginning is what a big team up movie needs. High stakes all the way through.

@DashParr - Same here. I really liked him as a villain in the Earth 2 run. He may not be a big villain but if done right he can be a great lead in to Darkseid.

@Equivocal - In the DCEU aren't Ares, Zeus and the Amazons descended from the New Gods? If so, similarities in their armor and weaponry would make sense.

@DashParr - Should call him Gray Wolf

@Scarilian - having "just the Parademons" as the antagonists would be a terrible idea. Imagine Avengers with just the Chitauri or just the Ultron bots.

@Goldboink - Even then, Cyborg's been touted about in recent years as a member of the Avengers, as well as part of the Teen Titans. I'd say most people have at least heard of him by now, anyway.

looks good.. very demonic; I know the haters will find a way to hate but him being more devilish and not human looking for this rendition actually helps in this particular medium; the Apokoliptians are the devils of the New Gods pantheon so it only makes sense that they should look devilish or demonic
Scarilian
Scarilian - 8/10/2017, 11:50 AM
@relentless1 -

Not sure what you are on about... Steppenwolf has always been portrayed as humanoid looking with a horned helmet.

relentless1 - 8/10/2017, 12:03 PM
@Scarilian - yeah but he's always looked like a straight up human not a demon with chin horns; I'm saying that this is an acceptable departure from his regular look as it will enhance him as the main villain for the film
Supafairy
Supafairy - 8/10/2017, 12:20 PM
@relentless1 - I completely agree. They kept some of his look by keeping the horned helmet but I do like the fact that he doesn't look human. Like you said, he's supposed to be a demon from Apokolips.

@relentless1 - I completely agree. I understand that he and other Apokoliptians are normally human-like in the comics, but it never made much sense to me. Despite the fact that anyone can/will hate anything no matter what it is. I think this looks like a good ADAPTATION
