Kick-Ass 2 Will Be About The Villains, Akin To A Clockwork Orange

More from Mark Millar, this time on Kick-Ass 2. It's finally happening and this time, the focus will shift from ordinary people turned costumed-heroes to regular joes turned costumed-villains.

In talking about a number of MillarWorld productions with ASK MEN UK, Millar also shared a few tidbits about the sequel to the smash-hit Kick Ass film adaption. Here's what he had to share:

QUESTION: What's happening with Kick-Ass 2?

MILLAR: Kick-Ass was about a kid who loved superhero comics going out dressed up as a superhero and doing what he had always fantasised about doing. The sequel is more like A Clockwork Orange, about a bunch of little shits who are like “Oh my God there’s these superheroes out there, let’s go and [frick] them up.” They dress up as super-villains to try and find them and go about doing robberies and rapes dressed as supervillains. Kick-Ass felt like what a real superhero would be like and Kick-Ass 2 is about what a supervillain would be like, and how would the superhero stop them.

There are two major new characters in the next movie. One's called Mother Russia, who’s pumped up on steroids - she's the ultimate killing machine. Then there's an older superhero, a retired guy who’s fed up with the little shits in the neighbourhood and forms a team of superheroes. I had Johnny Depp in mind when I was writing, but I said that in an interview, then the next day it went on like 500 websites.

QUESTION: You sound like you have a lot on your plate...

MILLAR: Yeah, there’s quite a lot on the go. It's funny because I’m actually quite lazy and I’ve forced myself into a position where I’m having to do quite a lot of work, which I’m kind of hating. What happens is somebody will come along and say "Can I buy that as a film?" and I’m delighted, and they’ll say "Great, the film’s out in ten months," so then I have to hurry up and finish the book.

I’m coming to the stage where I’ve got five movies all coming out over the space of like, 18 months. But unfortunately I’ve still got work to do. By summer, I should be clear and I’m just gonna totally relax for a few months, go on holiday or something. That’s what I dream of doing right now, instead I’m staring at the computer screen. I want to be just outside mucking about you know.

It's been previously reported that Kick-Ass 2 begins shooting this summer. No word yet on whether the entire, original cast will return. As you can see from Dark Shadows, actress Chloë Moretz is not looking all that young these days.

Kick-Ass is a 2010 black comedy superhero film based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. The film was directed by Matthew Vaughn, who co-produced the film with actor Brad Pitt, and co-wrote the screenplay with Jane Goldman. The film's general release was on 25 March 2010 in the UK and on 16 April 2010 in the US.

The film tells the story of an ordinary teenager, Dave Lizewski, who sets out to become a real-life superhero, calling himself "Kick-Ass". Dave gets caught up in a bigger fight when he meets Big Daddy, a former cop who, in his quest to bring down the drug lord Frank D'Amico, has trained his eleven-year-old daughter to be the ruthless vigilante Hit-Girl.

Despite having generated some controversy for its profanity and violence performed by a child, Kick-Ass was well received by both critics and audiences. The film has gained a strong cult following since its release on DVD and Blu-Ray.

On 19 February 2012, Millar revealed that the sequel is scheduled to begin filming in the summer of 2012.

black comedy or dark comedy generally refers to gallows humour, or comedy arising from very dark situations.

here's a couple examples

Well with Clockwork orange it is about a messed up rehabilitation. No one is going to want to root for bad guys going around robbing and raping people. I for one have no interest in following a story where the main focus is on people who should be killed, locked up, beat down or all of the above. The payoff would have to be so huge for me to even watch it. Like epic beat down, jerks being made to feel pain for all the crap they did. Having a rough hard core hero is one thing. You can at least root for them because they are doing the right thing. This really sounds like a bad move.

Anyone who doesn't like the first one is of course, entitled to their opinion...needless to say though they are stupid and should have their ass-kicked...ASS KICKED!

This on the other hand sounds [frick]ing awesome and I cannot wait to see what Mark Miller and Matt Vaughn do with the 2nd film, if it follows this line.

"Toxic Mega [foo foo]s!"

I really don't care for Mark at all. All he does is run his mouth, and thinks he is cool. "I've got 5 movies coming out in 8 months, and I hate working." What a douche...Wish he would just go away.

The thing I enjoyed so much about the last movie was the fact that it followed a guy that wanted to be a superhero. I liked that it was kinda relatable, but if they do away with that and just focus on the villains in the movie I want no part of it.

I like his work but I don't like this guy attitude
all he did just talking without some real development from said movies, all we got just him and his big mouth

ever heard of 'development hell' mr.millar?

I personally don't want to see sequel from wanted and kickass though its like "lightning only strikes once" it will never be as good or better than the first because we already knew its magic
