Matthew Vaughn hints that a second Kick-Ass movie may not be such a dead duck after all...

Rounding out his wold-wide press tour for "X-Men: First Class", Matthew Vaughn was caught off-guard by a reporter inquiring about a Kick-Ass sequel. He had this to say:

"We’re still discussing that at the moment. We might do it. People forget that Kick Ass we made for $28 million and now with DVD and everything else has made $225 million in revenue so it’s done great business. A lot of people say it could be like Austin Powers how the first one people couldn’t get their heads around, they all discovered it on video and then the second one was a huge blockbuster. My theory is I don’t know how to make sure Kick Ass 2 is as good as Kick Ass 1. I enjoyed making the movie so much and I loved working with all the characters in it so who knows? There could be one but if I do a sequel to that it’s gotta be just as good, if not better."

What do you think??? Inevitable??? Impossible??? Let us know!!!

i really can't stand Vaughn. just give a straight [frick]ing answer. every week it changes with the guy. decide yes or no and then shut the [frick] up about it.

same with Reynolds and Deadpool. is it happening yes or no? when is it happening than then shut the [frick] up

Rodriguez and Sin City. if you are going to make the damn thing do it and quit pushing it off to make another Spy-tards movie.

If he doesn't hurry the [frick] up, they're gonna have to recast Hitgirl.

im really hopin that he makes this over xmen first class 2. even if he gets around to making both, i still want him to make kick ass 2 first. and yeah @Dane shes just gonna keep getting older the more we wait and he doesnt realize it. They should just make 2 with Vaughn not attatched

Mmmm, ah... I'd like a Kick Ass 2 but won't get my panties in a bunch about it. Has the new comic came out yet?

The longer they wait, the less likely.Part of the hook of the first movie was that they were kids.Updating them to adulthood because the actors are growing fast would turn it into just another superhero spoof. It might turn out good, but I think it'll be missing a huge chunk of its original charm.

I say leave it alone and let it stand as a one off.Why do we always need a sequel? They're usually inferior anyway.

I think he's waiting for Mark Millar and John Romita to finish up the Kick-Ass 2 comic book. The first one was very true to the book from what I hear, and I don't see why he would break that mold for 2nd movie.

I don't really wanna see a Kick-Ass 2, I think it should stand alone.
That being said, I know he's only talking about Kick-Ass 2 to further promote First Class. He probably won't actually make it. He's said it before

The story from the second comic would lend itself well to a movie sequel. The only thing is that if they're going to do it, it needs to be soon, before they need to recast Hit Girl. Get the original cast back and Vaughn back, and I'm all for it.

I don't see a problem with a sequel of Kick-Ass as long as it is at least as good as the first movie if not better, so I agree with Vaughn with that point.

That being said, they better hurry up 'cause Chloe Moretz (Hit-Girl) already turned 14 this year.

So if Kick-Ass 2 has to happen, it has to do it within the next 2 years.

Like PrinceOfPower87 said, Hit-girl is getting older, so if they're going to do it, they need to figure that out soon. They're already a few issues into the sequel comic, so I'm not sure what the deal is. The first time around I believe they wrote the comic and movie at the same time. Now what? Has Millar not even talked to the movie people?

BETTER HURRY UP AN MAKE IT CAUSE SHES STARTING TO LOOK LIKE AVRIL LAVIGNE...

As long as Nicholas Cage isn't in the movie to ruin it, I'm for a second one.

Don't see what all the fuss is about, Kick Ass is one of the most over rated movies ever. Complete crap!
Let's turn our attentions to a franchise worthy of a sequel rather than this drivel.

POR69, well said. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this movie's greatness is terribly over exaggerated.
