A live-action Magdalena movie was announced "in development" last summer, and three comic book movie production companies united for the project: Valhalla Motion Pictures, Platinum Studios and Top Cow.

The busty brunette-headed heroine first appeared within the pages of Top Cow's "The Darkness," and has bounced around various other titles such as "Vampirella," "Witchblade" and even "Tomb Raider." Patience is the name of the character who is a descendant of Mary Magdalene and part of an all-female caste of warriors who fight supernatural evil.

Sultry actress Jenna Dewan won the part of the live version...

"She's terrific. It's kind of like 'The Da Vinci Code' meets 'Wanted,'" says producer Gale Anne Hurd.

"You've got the mythology and a character who isn't initially aware of her legacy which something I love. Many of my films deal with that. And it's still has supernatural elements."

Couldn't have picked a better actress than her to fill the part!!! I'm so psyched, i can cut glass with my nipples!!! Not to mention that Luke Goss is also in it(one of my all time favorite actors) which is gonna kick ass!!!

As long as they have snipers posted on the roof tops of the studio with the orders to "shoot on sight" regarding Uwe Boll, then I'm all for whatever they plan for it.

Just keep that cancer away from it.

What does Uwe Boll have to do with Magdalena???

Lord knows i agree with you VEX, let's annihilate this sucker before he tries to get a hold of the production for "Castlevania: the movie" and destroy's one of my boyhood dreams!!!

No i wanna see Magdalena first. Hulk 2 can wait a few months.

Uwe has nothing to do with it, thank god. I'm just saying, even if Uwe is sitting up in his bed in the back of his van thinking "Hey, I can direct this."... Shoot him.
Anyone who looks like him, approaches the building, shoot them.

That bastard seems to get his mitts on small projects. Magdalena, I would consider, is a small project. So, I'm covering bases here by stating: Keep him away.

Yes, also, keep him away from Castlevania, as well as World of Warcraft and God of War.

Other than that, the movie is starting on good footing.

Totally agree!!! Shoot him, ask questions never!

The back of the van line...LMMFAO!!!!!

Seriously, he seems to be geared towards video game adaptations for some reason so i fear for our favorites as above mentionned!!!

Kind of random to think of Uwe Boll, don't ya think?

Yeah, he's a terrible director.

Oh yuea Shaman, one of the funniest movies to date. Steve Carell is hysterical. That whole movie just made me lagu until I cried, then laughed until I couldn't breathe. Awesome times.

Tuscon; I AM GL! How DARE YOU! Although, the Kingdom Come Hal Jordan pic is cool.

Everything Apatow touches turns to gold. I think Forgetting Sarah Marshall was my favorite.

And I heard something about Brett Ratner maybe directing God of War. Not as bad as Uwe Boll, but close enough. Both of them should got to jail for life on several charges of rape. Those poor poor movies. They can scrub all they want, but it will never make the pain go away.

Castlevania sounds sweet and I can't WAIT for GOW. They already have the perfect actor, now all they need is the director. Someone good like Del Toro. But he's doing the Hobbit movies.

Well Jackman ain't doing much right now, he could do a great GOW!!!

But to compare Ratner to Uwe Boll is pushing it dude. Boll PURPOSELY makes shitty movies because of his German tax fraud gimmick while Ratner still does great "directing" per say. Where he went wrong was "accepting" the shitty script for X3 but still filmed it well. Even though Singer and Ratner had their fair share of "faux pas", to compare them to a serial rapist like Boll is a hell of a stretch. I think in Ratner's case, the next Conan movie will actually set the picture straight for us. Either he blows our minds or he sinks beyond the point of no return. We'll see.

Oh and ION, i love your avatar but having "paralax" in your user name, it would be cool for you to have a "paralax" avatar :) That way even though tuscan has Hal as an avatar, you'll still be the more "kick ass" version of him. THE PSYCHO HAL!!!

And yeah, both movies "Anchorman and 40 year ol virgin" ARE my all time milk spewin' through my nosthrills, laugh out loud till i need CPR favorite comedies!!!

Yea, but Ion being first I had to get a shot of Ion. Parallax is sweet, but I couldn't find a badass version of the 2 combined, which is really what I wanted. I guess I could go Kyle Rayner as Parallax...But somehow, that just loses cred, although he looked cool.

Maybe I overreacted by calling Ratner a rapist. I think all of these crazed fanboy reviews are getting to me. I actually like X3. But he could definetly not pull of a GOW movie.

But Hugh Jackman as Kratos? That(sorry) is an awful idea. Plus I think they already gave the role to Djimon Hounsou. He'll be good.
IonParallax
IonParallax - 12/5/2008, 5:11 PM
Djimon Honsou should be Black Panther
Vex
Vex - 12/5/2008, 7:58 PM
I was thinking Vin Diesel as Kratos. Get that gammy sumbitch back on track. The one his potential was going with "Pitch Black".

Then "decisions" happened and we got "Fast and Furious", "A Man Apart" and "The Pacifier"... what the hell?

God of War would have been good for him in getting some credibility back.

IonParallax - 12/8/2008, 5:31 AM
A Man Apart was a great film. Now the other 2 mentioned...Blaaah, but that was a good one. Pitch Black was AWESOME. and I think Diesel as Kratos is a good choice.
