Chloë Grace Moretz's breakout role was as the foul-mouthed Hit-Girl in the controversial Kick-Ass movies, though it's fair to say that's a character the actress has now outgrown. She's starred in a number of projects since then, of course, but has confirmed in an interview with ComicBook.com that there have been talks with Marvel Studios!
"Yeah, we've talked a little bit about it," Moretz revealed. "I mean, I think for me, I would be really interested in playing a villain in Marvel or DC, and jumping into more of the darker side of the role."
"I love a superhero. I think that'd be really fun, too, but I think it's just all about finding the one that really matches what you're wanting to get across, and the scope of the character," she continued. "I think it'd be really fun if it was the right role and the right project."
We're hoping Moretz is referring to Marvel Studios and not confusing them with Sony's Marvel Universe as many actors seem to do (we're pretty sure that's how Sony Pictures continues attracting A-List talent to projects like Morbius and Madame Web). Regardless, the actress is clearly keen to join a comic book franchise as a baddie.
That's an undeniably intriguing prospect, though it's hard to say who she would be a good fit for. There are still many villains from the comic books we haven't seen in the MCU, and with the X-Men and Fantastic Four on their way to that world, the list of possibilities increases significantly.
As for the Kick-Ass franchise, while Moretz didn't comment on that during this interview, there have been rumblings something is planned for the series. There was once chatter about a solo Hit-Girl project, though we'd guess a new, younger actress would be cast if that happened today.
Who do you think Moretz could play in the MCU?
