Marvel Studios has been criticized for lousy visual effects in several of its recent MCU movies, and earlier this month, a group of VFX artists took to Reddit to share accounts of unworkable deadlines and immense pressure leading to "unsatisfactory final products."
The prevailing theory was that these unfinished/less realistic-looking shots must be the result of Marvel rushing the post-production process, and the fact that employees at visual effects companies are refusing to work with the studio due to the stress brought on by impossible-to-meet deadlines might just prove that this theory holds water.
Now, another artist has accused the studio of using bullying tactics to attempt to ensure deadlines are met, even going so far as to essentially blacklist one particular company who failed to deliver.
While speaking to Vulture, the unnamed VFX tech in question describes the studio as being "infamously awful" to work for. They are said to "underpay and over work, have no idea what they want, demand endless last-minute revisions and will blacklist anyone who comes up short."
"They’ll be like, 'Can you just try this? Can you just try that?' They’ll want you to change an entire setting, an entire environment, pretty late in a movie. I’ve had co-workers sit next to me, break down, and start crying. I’ve had people having anxiety attacks on the phone."

It'll be interesting to see if anything comes of this, but this is not the first (or second) time we've heard reports of Marvel Studios fostering unsatisfactory working conditions for VFX artists. We are talking about one of, if not the biggest movie studio in the world here, so they shouldn't struggle to find VFX companies to employ.
Then again, if enough of these type of reports come to light, they may be forced to issue a response at the very least.
