POLL: From Marvel To DC, Netflix, Prime Video, And Beyond - Vote For The Best Superhero TV Show Of 2022!

POLL: From Marvel To DC, Netflix, Prime Video, And Beyond - Vote For The Best Superhero TV Show Of 2022!

These days, superheroes don't just dominate theaters; they pretty much run television as well! 2022 has been no exception, and we want to hear from you on which of these was the best series of the year!

Welcome back - we hope you're enjoying the holidays!

Yesterday, we asked you to cast your vote and decide which 2022 superhero movie deserves to be named the best one (if you missed that, feel free to check it out here). We made a lot of visits to theaters this year, and as the rise of superheroes on screen continues unabated, it's fair to say we've spent just as much time with them at home on the small screen.

With that in mind, as 2022 winds down, now seems like a good idea to give you, our loyal ComicBookMovie.com readers, the chance to share your take on this year's superhero TV shows! Over the past 360-odd days, you've read our reviews, opinions, and news stories about all the titles listed below, but it's time for you to vote for which of them you most enjoyed.

Now, this was a tricky one as there are a huge number of comic book adaptations on networks, cable channels, and streaming platforms these days.

As a result, we've tried to keep the spotlight on those that fall into the "superhero" genre, hence why The Walking Dead isn't among those listed below. You may also wonder why the likes of The Flash and Legends are Tomorrow are M.I.A., but it seemed fairest to focus on the shows that began in 2022 rather than those that kicked off in 2021.

We got a fair bit of MCU content this year, with Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law all adding new characters to that franchise. Peacemaker picked up where The Suicide Squad left off, while DC offered almost countless TV shows set in all manner of different worlds (we're not banking on a Pennyworth/Titans crossover anytime soon, for example).

It's been another varied, exciting year, and one we're sure you're keen to share your thoughts on. 2023 looks set to be even busier, but in the meantime, cast your vote below, and be sure to keep checking back here in the coming days to see how your favourite fares...

I like the Boys but it can get boring. Not enough of Season 4 of Doom Patrol is out for me to make a decision. I’m torn between Sandman and Peacemaker.

Top 3 would be:

1. Superman & Lois s2
2. The Boys s3
3. Moon Knight

Hard choice between Peacemaker and The Boys S3!

Liked Order:
Peacemaker
The Boys
Doom Patrol
Sandman
Ms. Marvel
Harley Quinn
Moon Knight

Did Not Like Order:
She-Hulk (It honestly surprised to put this here, but I really didn't care for this one. Billing itself as a comedy, I was expecting something like Fleabag meets Legally Blonde, but most jokes came off superficial and flat to me. Its the only show that I think kind of wasted my entertainment time and I think I'll probably skip s2 if there is a s2. Maslany was great in the role, but the script came off as needing more focus).

N/A (Haven't Seen)
Baymax
Naomi
Pennyworth
Stargirl
Titans
Superman and Lois -want to watch

Tough call between The Boys, Sandman, and Peacemaker. Went with Peacemaker.

There are worse things than having too many good comic-based shows.

Superman - simply because it's the only live-action comicbook accurate version of the character since Chris Reeve

@SpaceAgent - I would argue that Superman Returns was a pretty comic accurate version of Superman. Even though it was technically the same Superman as Chris Reeve's version. And the movie was boring and terrible and the actor was too skinny. But it was still pretty accurate. More so than anything else we've gotten.

@CorndogBurglar - Superman Returns had a Superman that could lift a kryptonite island.

Last time I checked kryptonite was Superman's weakness.

But I will agree it did feature that awesome plane rescue scene.

@marvel72 - Thats a fair point. But Kryotonite has been shown the act differently on him. Sometimes it instantly puts him down. Other times it takes time and slowly drains him. It did nearly kill him as soon as he threw it into the sun.

From the ones I've seen, it's gotta be The Boys, followed closely by Peacemaker.

I almost instinctively voted for Moon Knight because just seeing the name makes me think of how cool the character is. In the comics. Then I remembered what a disappointment the show was and clicked Peacemaker instead.

@ObserverIO - This is pretty much how I feel. Moon Knight was one of my most anticipated shows, but then when it came out I was severely disappointed. They just went too supernatural with it. I didn't really like how Mark Spector took a back seat either. And there was not enough Moon Knight.

I was honestly hoping for a Batman style street level crime fighter presentation with Moon Knight because the MCU is really lacking in that department. And to me that's when Moon Knight his at his best. I know there's a lot of debate around this, but to me Moon Knight is Marvel's Batman. The argument can be made that Tony Stark is Marvel's Batman, but I disagree. Tony Stark is Marvel's Bruce Wayne. Moon Knight is Marvel's Batman.

@CorndogBurglar - I was confused as to how disappointing the show was when I thought it would blow everyone away. They need better writers for season two if it’s greenlit. Way better writers.

@TheHummus - Agreed. I couldn't believe what I was watching.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 12/26/2022, 3:00 PM
@TheHummus - Leading up to the show, when we got the first trailer I thought it would have been cool to have a brutal street level hero that uses all kinds of martial arts weapons and tool like in the comics.

And because he's mentally unstable, when they showed the costume wrapping itself around him all supernatural like, that should have just been what he was envisioning. And it should have kept switching perspectives. Like show him just putting on his costume like normal to the viewers, but in his head he's picturing the costume wrapping itself all around him.

And they should have made Khonshu ambiguous. Like we hear Khonshu talking to him, but its just a voice and we, the viewers never really know if Khonshu is real or just another voice in Mark Specter's head.

I think it was a really had idea to dive headfirst into the supernatural stuff and make no question about Khonshu being real.

I voted for Sandman, but Peacemaker was a close second. The Boys S3 was really good as well. I haven't finished Umbrella Academy S3 yet. Surprisingly, my fav Marvel show this year was She-Hulk. I know not many here enjoyed it, but I love Tatiana Maslany, and Marvel did a great job translating Byrne's quirky humor to the screen.

Overall though, Werewolf By Night & The GoTG Holiday Special beat most of this list, but they weren't series.

@FreelancePeacekeeper - I don’t think it’s fair at all to say not many here liked She-Hulk. I think it’s more a case of those that didn’t like it were constantly vocal about it.
