This week saw Disney acquire the vast majority of 21st Century Fox's assets including The X-Men, Deadpool, and The Fantastic Four. This deal has been met with a lot of excitement from comic book fans while others are a bit wary of the momentous deal. One Marvel creator who is absolutely delighted with these developments is the man involved with concieving these characters to begin with, Stan Lee.

In an interview with Newsarama, Lee provided a statement expressing his excitement "A truly great piece of news! Now Characters such as The X-Men and The Fantastic Four can come home to the place where they belong!" Lee went on to talk about the importance of Marvel retaining all there characters under one creative banner "It's vitally important to have the Marvel characters under one roof. And now, as great as they were before, I can't wait to see the wonders that will unfold!"

Incidentally, Stan "The Man" also made a bold prediction that Disney would eventually acquire the rights for all the Marvel character and it looks like his claim has come to fruition, perhaps sooner than even he expected.

I seem to remember a few months ago Stan Lee said that the characters would eventually be together under Marvel. Maybe he had inside information on this deal long before anyone else did.

@Nightwing1015 - I think it is totally safe to say he had that inside info. I think the FOX deal is the reason the Marvel slate after Avengers 4 hasn't been revealed - this deal has been in the works for as long as two years! When Marvel started playing nice and made an X-Men tv deal with Fox.

Anybody else feel like Marvel/Disney pay off directors or writers to purposely make shitty films like Fantastic Four and Amazing Spider Man 2? It seems like they could easily sabotage films in order to bring them back home. This looks like a job for the Question...

@Saintsinnister - That... Does Not seem plausible...

Don't Sony still own the movie rights to Spider-Man?

Just make good comic book movies, that's all we want. I don't care which studio owns the rights.

A bittersweet 2017 for Stan. He lost his beloved Joan earlier this year. But he now has the peace of mind that his first great co-creation (Fantastic Four and all those wonderful villains) will finally be given the cinematic due it deserves. I hope he is alive when Marvel Studios launches the FF universe in a few years so he can see it.
