Comic fans can spot a Jack Kirby drawing from a mile away. His signature style and iconic creations have been setting the bar for other artists throughout his illustrious 58-year comic book career (and still for years after.)

The man who first drew Captain America punching Hitler in the face in 1941 served on the western front of World War II just two years later. He returned home from the war and continued to serve us with classics like Sgt. Rock, The Avengers, X-Men, and countless others up until his death in 1994.

Teaming with all-stars like Stan Lee, Kirby created the look and feel of many of our favorite heroes, most of which are still around today.

Mr. Kirby, you've left us with a legacy that we can continue to celebrate every time we pick up a comic book. Your influence is undeniable and your legacy is incomparable, thank you.

This guy got me into illustrating. It's a shame he hasn't been able to see all the comicbook film adaptations of the last decade.

Jack Kirby > Stan Lee. The art is as important if not more so than the story.

95 years old and still the d@mn King. Hell yeah! Mr. Kirby, thank you for creating such memeorable and marvelous (in every sense of the word) characters. Your drawings, sir, will always be my favorite. It's just embedded in my head, ever since I was a kid. Again, thank you for the timeless characters and may you have the most wonderful birthday, Mr. Kirby. RIP, Jack Kirby!

@BossWalsh and @soberchimera61 - There really is no need for "Stan Lee > Jack Kirby" or "Jack Kirby > Stan Lee." It's unneccesary, really. It should be like this..."Stan Lee = Jack Kirby". Both Mr. Stan Lee and Mr. Jack Kirby are equally and marvelously talented. Both of these two legends have given us in the comic book community and the whole world an open world of such creative and timeless imagination. A whole wave of memorable and loving characters that we all can enjoy reading about. Plus also, both Stan and Jack defintiely wouldn't agree to this "Stan Lee > Jack Kirby" or "Jack Kirby > Stan Lee" BS. They would say that both one another are just as talented as themselves (Stan Lee would say that Kirby is immensely talented, and Kirby would say the same about Stan Lee as well). Just saying. :)

Stay EPIC, my friends!

Jack Kirby, you're art has made anything I could ever do look like something from a five year old's coloring book. You're illustrations have made me what I am today. You and Stan Lee will always have the most memorable partnership I've ever seen in comics.

I'm with IcemanX; Way to exploit a tribute to an amazing man, superherostuff. You've pretty much assured that I won't buy anything from you.

@TheAmazingSpidey63...Well put, my friend. There is no debate about which man was greater. They both had an equal part in creating some of the most amazing and iconic characters in comic book history. In the land of comic books, a writer cannot succeed without an artist to illustrate for him, nor (in 99% of the cases) can an artist flourish without a writer. They work in tandem, and create balance with their combined efforts. Yin and Yang embodied, if you will.

Mr. Kirby, you are sorely missed, and you are remembered on a daily basis through your creations and imaginings. And thank you, for enriching the lives of all of us who have had the pleasure of reading the tales of your characters throughout the decades.

Make Mine Marvel!!!

@cipher and @GhostZillaRider - Thanks, you guys. Just something like that is just BS and really unnecessary, really. As you've both said, they're equally talented and gifted. Thanks Jack for your work and timeless imagination/drawings/characters. :D
