The eagle-eyed lads at Bleeding Cool have spotted the following in the solicit for Nova #7..

• We’ll get to tying into Infinity next month, but you should probably pick this one up first.

It's unlikely that it's a coincidence, so assuming that it's not, it'd be a fair bet that Marvel have something planned for the New Warriors. The original team was made up of supporting characters from other ongoing series, and consisted of Nova, Speedball, Namorita, Marvel Boy, Firestar and Night Thrasher. But there have been many incarnations since, with additions such as Darkhawk, Scarlet Spider, Dagger (as in Cloak and Dagger), and of course our old pal Rage. Who might make up this Marvel NOW! version? Speculate away!

New Warriors #1 and Thor #412 were a couple of the first comics I ever spent a major amount of money on, so I am definitely glad about this. I also really hope J. August turns out to be Rage because the other options I've seen don't seem like they would work as well with the SHIELD show.

Why wouldent the comics and movie/tv go habd in hand? If marvel is telling story acrossed entire genres thats friggen amazing. Its never been done!

Generally the comics have been doing things that follow similar interests to the movies.

New Warriors seems like a good place to go with the TV show. Not quite movie material, but popular enough that they shouldn't be ignored.

I wish this was true, but marvel had the chance to get the original team back together a couple of years ago(excluding dwayne). Speedball remembered his identity. Firestar was getting back into the hero game and her cancer problem was under control. Namorita from the past, was brought to the present. Nova was doing big things, but could have had a brief moment for old friends. It was a wasted opportunity for a great mini.

I really hate what marvel did to my favorite team thoughout the nineties. They were the best book out there, at the time. When I heard they were coming back i was so excited, but was so let down with the out of character team, and them being a plot device for kicking off civil war. These guys werent rookies anymore, and even when they were they didnt act like it. They took on terrax, and juggs(with thors help) in there first battle and first appearence. still mad about that whole stamford situation.

Some if the originals could still make an apperence though. Speedball and Justice was last seen taking sometime off in avengers academy. Not quite sure what happened to Namorita after the Thanos Imperative. Havent seen firestar since her appearence in the fear itself books.

I do hope some of the team favorites get some comic love sometime soon. We still have unresolved issues with darkhawk, that needs clearing up. Rage is still around, focusing on school. Dagger need some love too, and maybe cloak will join this time. throw in firestars boyfriend gravity, marvelgirl, and the new kid nova and you got yourself a team there.

@excrememntus let's see what those bold letters and that dash are are: NEW-WARRIORS
they did the same in 2 iron man comics where the first letters of each word spelt laser as in the living laser,who was the true foe behind the scheme.

they might marvel have just release a new warriors omnibus collecting the first 26 issues,2 annuals,thor 411 & 412 & some other issues.
