I dunno, I like them I must say. I get how contrived and repetitive they are but I just find that found footage style effective I guess. They're not horror masterpieces..but they do their job.

I agree. They are decent movies... It's hard to get into a movie or scared by it when you watch it with 5 of your friends or your girlfriend who can stop talking through it. It takes you out of it and you end of making jokes instead of investing. Try watching it alone in the dark, the first time and see if it has no effect.

I have no idea how anyone gets scared from these movies, from 1-3 I saw these with friends and we were laughing the whole way through at both the movie and the idiots behind us who actually jumped. The 4th one though I actually fell asleep in......it was that bad and boring.....5th one better at least make me laugh again lol

I certainly don't find them boring..I'm actually quite interested in the mythology behind them..which they will of course drag out for another 10 movies.

@Ror, yes the mythology is interesting* to me as well. But, I like paranormal shows like Ghost Adventures so maybe that's a reason why it interests me more. Some of the things they talk about (demons and witchcraft) kind of resonate in these movies, making it all seem more plausible and disturbing.

so this is a break with the previous series, finslly s sequel rather than prequels. Meh...that they showed way too much of the story before, and how is this going to be any different?

Looks good to me, glad to see them go down the Latino route. The Latino maid in the second film always gave me thoughts about how this demon will be destroyed or fought against. Either way I think it will be a cool new route for them to go in!

I just hate the fact that the films are starting to have noticeable actors playing the roles. I still haven't seen the Conjuring but everyone I know who saw it were completely freaked out! lol

If you like found footage films, watch Chronicle or Cloverfield.
