El Mayimbe of the website,
Latino-Review, has a new scoop, this time his sources have informed him that prestigious actor, Colin Firth, has landed the coveted role of Uncle Jack in Matthew Vaughn's
The Secret Service.
"Anyway, according to sources, Oscar winner Colin Firth has bagged the role of Uncle Jack in the upcoming film. That’s a really hot casting choice. Uncle Jack is quite the alpha male in the comic so it will be a cool to see someone like Colin Firth put foot to ass. Can’t wait." - El Mayimbe
Production of the film is expected to begin sometime in August.
The film is slated to open in theaters nationwide, November 14th, 2014!
UPDATE! It appears that the website,
rogersmovienation.com, actually has a quote from Colin Firth confirming that he has a part in the film. That article was posted just a few days ago, but clearly went unnoticed.
But he’s never done a Hollywood comic book movie, and he lets on that he’s about to worth with Matthew Vaughn (“Kick Ass”). Vaughn is doing the comic book adaptation of “The Secret Service.” It’s about a secret agent of iconic, James Bond status, and the young “street punk” nephew he mentors in the spy game.
“Too early to talk about now, but it’ll be unlike anything I’ve done,” Firth teases. - rogersmovienation
