Day 3 of the Wizard World: St. Louis convention was a very sobering day. The lines were a bit shorter, the atmosphere a little calmer, but that didn’t stop everyone from having a hell of a time. It was the perfect day for the little ones however as the third day of the super powered weekend was developed mainly for them. Parents got the opportunity to let their kids wear their favorite costumes, this time outside the house and on a day other than Halloween. What a joy it was to see their faces once they entered the arena and seen all of the comics, costumes and everything super heroey. That, was just the beginning of this fun filled day.

Some of the events awaiting the young cosplayers were, but not limited to, the Voltron: Defending a Kid’s Universe panel, the Green Power Ranger Power Hour and the Wizard World Kids Costume Contest.

In the Voltron panel, a new generation got the opportunity to journey deep into space and witness the rich history of the Voltron legacy. With promises for a ton of new Voltron related news in 2014, fans young and old are in for an amazing year.

The Green Power Ranger Power Hour is, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, an hour with the Green Ranger. Not just any green ranger however, the legendary Jason David Frank a.k.a. Tommy Oliver. For this hour, children and parents got to kick with JDF, literally. The martial arts master and creator of Toso Kune Do takes the time to teach everyone some very useful karate. What better way to learn self-defense than from a power ranger? None that I can think of and the children certainly enjoyed themselves.

Last, and certainly the most exciting, was the Wizard World Kids Costume Contest. Batman and Robin, Green Arrow, even Vash the Stampede from Trigun was there (gun excluded of course). They showed us their poses and did it all while being unbelievably cute.

While it may have been kids day on the third and final day of Wizard World: St. Louis, the adults still had plenty to do. Celebrity stars and infamous comic book artists still filled the building, signing autographs and taking photos during their last hours in the STL. It was also the perfect day to get some last minute shopping done, without fighting a horde of other guests. Rare comic books were on sale for nothing less than crazy prices, collectable figures were flying off the shelves and everyone was surely walking out with a t-shirt (or 2) for sure.

The perfect ending to an overwhelmingly successful weekend. So, what else is there to be said? I know, we can’t wait till next year.
